A junior full stack developer designs, builds and maintains responsive web applications using .NET Core MVC, C#, JavaScript/jQuery and SQL Server at an insurance company in Pretoria. Day to day involves integrating APIs, code reviews, testing, and version control with Git and Azure DevOps alongside designers and marketing.

We’ve got a position available for a junior full stack web developer

Company: Porcupine Union

Purpose of position

Design, develop and maintain responsive web applications using .NET Core MVC and related technologies. Proficiency across both front-end and back-end technologies and thrive in a collaborative and innovation-driven team

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross functional teams, including designers, animators and marketing
Build reusable code and libraries for future use
Integrate third party API’s and internal systems through web services
Ensure applications performance, quality and responsiveness
Participate in the code reviews, testing and development processes
Maintain clear documentation and version control via Git and Azure DevOps
Contribute to the creative and strategic direction of digital products

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of web development experience
Strong proficiency in C#, CSHTML, CSS, JavaScript/JQuery and .NET Core MVC
Familiarity with Bootstrap and Entity Frameworks
Experience in the developing and consuming web services
Strong understanding if data formats like XML and JSON
Experience with SQL Server
Proficiency in source control, specifically Git and basic to intermediate knowledge of Azure DevOps practices

Skills

Experience with front-end frameworks such as React.js and Angular
Familiarity with Flutter for mobile application development
Experience with Umbraco
Experience with progressive web apps (PWA)
Basic understanding of SEO
Background in online marketing
