Part-time (2 days/week) junior frontend developer at Australian D2C footwear brand Zoe Kratzmann, building and maintaining the Shopify storefront with Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, running CRO/A-B testing, and creating AI-powered automations and internal tools with Claude plus platforms like Klaviyo and Gorgias.
About the role
zoe kratzmann is an Australian footwear and accessories brand that sells exclusively online. Our website is our store, so the person in this role will have a direct impact on how customers discover, experience and buy from us. We're looking for a junior frontend developer who is curious about three things: building great online experiences, improving how an ecommerce site converts, and using AI to take repetitive work off people's plates. You'll work across our Shopify storefront, including frontend development, conversion rate optimisation (CRO) and website testing, as well as automations and internal tools that help our marketing, customer care and operations teams work more efficiently. The role starts at 2 days a week, with the potential to grow into more days as the role and your skills develop.
Key responsibilities
Build and maintain features on our Shopify storefront using Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, including landing pages, product page improvements and campaign builds
Help improve conversion, user experience, site speed and the mobile shopping experience
Support CRO and A/B testing, helping identify opportunities, build tests and measure what happens
Use customer behaviour and website data to help understand where customers are getting stuck and what could be improved
Build AI-powered automations and small internal tools using Claude, including things like drafting product copy, triaging support tickets and pulling reports together
Connect automations and tools with platforms such as Shopify, Klaviyo and Gorgias
Test, document and improve the things you build
Work with our marketing, creative and customer care teams to understand the problem before jumping into the code
About you
1–2 years of experience - this could be commercial experience, freelance work, a bootcamp, a degree, personal projects or being self-taught
A solid understanding of HTML, CSS and modern JavaScript
A portfolio, GitHub or a few projects you're proud of and can talk us through
A genuine interest in ecommerce, CRO and practical uses of AI, with an interest in understanding why something works, not just how to code it
Clear communication and a willingness to ask questions, learn and take feedback
The ability to manage your own time and work independently across 2 days a week
Nice to have: Experience with Claude or automation platforms such as Zapier, Make or n8n
Nice to have: Familiarity with Git, React or another frontend framework
Nice to have: An eye for design and attention to detail
Nice to have: Any experience with analytics or testing tools, such as GA4, heatmaps or A/B testing platforms
