A Java/J2EE developer role in Dubai: the person writes, updates, and maintains Java applications, builds RESTful APIs and microservices (Spring Boot/Hibernate), deploys via CI/CD with Docker/Kubernetes, and works with SQL/NoSQL databases like Postgres, Oracle, and MongoDB within Agile teams.
The purpose of the job is to use the required programming language to write, update and maintain programs to handle specific tasks.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications (often using frameworks like Spring Boot or Hibernate)
- Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code
- Implement RESTful APIs and microservices
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Participate in CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitLab
- Deploy applications to environments (Dev, QA, UAT, Prod)
- Work with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration like Kubernetes
- Ensure smooth release cycles and rollback strategies
- Design and optimize database queries (SQL/NoSQL)
- Work with databases such as Postgres, Oracle Database, or MongoDB
- Perform data migrations and ensure data integrity
- Optimize performance (indexes, query tuning)
- Work closely with QA, DevOps, business analysts, and stakeholders
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (Scrum, stand-ups, sprint planning)
- Review code (peer reviews, pull requests)
- Document technical designs and APIs
