IT Support Student for MDSI ApS

Do you want to make a real difference? Global security and stability are under pressure, and innovative solutions are needed in the Defence Industry

MDSI is looking for an IT support student to help build and run the IT foundation behind our development of innovative new products. In this position, you will work closely with the CTO and the engineering team, take ownership of real infrastructure, and gain hands-on experience with servers, networking, and modern IT operations in a fast-moving defence company.

This is a part-time student position of approximately 10 hours per week, with flexible hours that we plan around your studies and exam periods.

Tasks

Your main task will be to support and improve MDSI's internal IT environment, working alongside our hardware and software developers.

Among other things, your tasks will include:

• Setting up and maintaining servers and on-premise infrastructure (e.g. Proxmox, Synology NAS)

• Network configuration and administration (firewalls, switches, VLANs, Wi-Fi)

• Writing and maintaining clear IT documentation and how-to guides

• Building small AI-driven automations that reduce manual IT and administrative work

• Day-to-day IT support and onboarding for colleagues (Microsoft 365, endpoints, accounts)

• Helping keep our IT environment secure, tidy, and well-governed

You will be able to benefit from continuous sparring with management, colleagues, and experts across a broad range of fields, and you will have room to grow the role as your skills develop.

What we are looking for in a candidate

• You are currently studying a relevant field within IT, computer science, or software (e.g. datamatiker, IT-teknolog, software/computer engineering, or similar)

• A general interest in and understanding of IT infrastructure, servers, and networking

• Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux

Experience with the following is an advantage:

• Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID administration

• Scripting and automation (e.g. PowerShell, Python)

• Virtualisation, NAS, and firewall administration (e.g. Proxmox, Synology, FortiGate)

• Working with AI tools to automate tasks and build simple workflows

Personal Characteristics

• You have personal drive and take initiative

• You are responsible and self-reliant, and comfortable owning tasks end to end

• You are structured in your approach to tasks and know how to prioritize

• You view documentation as a natural part of the work

• You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and have a flexible mindset

In this position, a security clearance may be required at a later stage. MDSI will apply on your behalf if you do not hold one.
