IT Support Technician

About the role

We're an Adelaide-based IT Solution Provider, and we're growing. We're looking for IT Support Technicians to join our service desk and field team, supporting clients across Education, Defence, Government, Legal, Accounting, Retail, Manufacturing and Logistics.

You'll be the person our clients speak to when something isn't working, troubleshooting Level 1 and 2 faults remotely and onsite, and supporting the servers, networks and infrastructure that keep them running. You won't be on your own doing it: you'll have a large team of peers around you and clear escalation points when a problem outgrows you.

Whether you're a graduate with solid fundamentals and a genuine appetite to learn or if you've already got a few years on a service desk and you're looking for broader exposure, we want to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

• Acting as first point of contact for clients, diagnosing and resolving Level 1 and 2 faults by phone, email, remote session or onsite

• Supporting and administering clients' servers, networks, endpoints and general IT infrastructure

• Working to service level targets, and keeping clients informed along the way

• Escalating when you've exhausted your troubleshooting, and staying across the issue until it's resolved

• Spotting opportunities to improve client environments and flagging them to the team

• Representing Ipau on client sites

What you'll need

Essential

• Working knowledge of Windows Server and Windows client operating systems, and Active Directory

• A solid grasp of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs)

• You can explain a technical problem to a non-technical client without making them feel stupid

• The ability to work independently onsite and collaboratively back at base

• A current driver's licence and reliable transport

• A current DHS Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one before you start (we'll fund and organise it)

• Willingness to undergo a National Police Check

Highly regarded

• Experience in a similar MSP or multi-client support role

• Hands-on exposure to Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID

• Familiarity with RMM and remote access tooling

• A relevant Certificate IV, Diploma or degree

• Industry certifications

• Level 1–2 diagnostic experience across printers, mobile devices, servers and end-user hardware

• Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance (required for our Defence clients)

If you don't tick every box under "highly regarded," apply anyway. We care more about aptitude and attitude than a complete list.

Why this role is worth your time

What we offer is the thing that actually shapes an early technical career: exposure and people who'll teach you.

You'll learn faster here than almost anywhere else. In an internal IT role you learn one environment. Here you'll have the opportunity to work across different industries, different stacks, different constraints and you'll see problems that most technicians don't encounter for years.

You won't be left to sink. You'll sit alongside senior technicians and engineers who are genuinely available as escalation points, and who treat a handover as a chance to explain rather than just take the ticket off you. That mentoring is the core of how we develop people.

About Ipau

We've been growing since 2005, and in that time we've built a team with deep expertise across the full ICT landscape. Onsite and remote support, procurement, implementation and voice services.

Culture is our highest priority, and we invest in an environment that supports learning, teamwork and enjoying the work. Our view is that people do their best work when they like where they are and care about what they're doing. That's why we hire for curiosity and train for capability. (We also have a table tennis table and a pinball machine!)

How to apply

Apply through Seek. Give us an example of what you've broken and fixed (we're more interested in that than a list of duties).

Ipau is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and are happy to make adjustments to our recruitment process on request.

No agencies, please.
