IT Support Administrator
Lake Mary, Florida · Full-Time · In-Office, Not Remote
7+ Years of IT Experience Required
Kappa Computer Systems is a growing Managed Services Provider in Lake Mary, Florida, recognized as a Best Places to Work for five consecutive years. We're looking for an experienced IT Support Administrator who enjoys troubleshooting, takes ownership of problems from start to finish, and cares as much about the client experience as the technical fix.
POSITION OVERVIEW
In this hands-on role, you'll support small, mid-sized, and enterprise clients across a wide range of industries. Your work will span workstations, servers, networks, firewalls, Microsoft 365 and cloud services, security solutions, backups, virtualization, and line-of-business applications. Every client environment is different, so you'll need to get up to speed quickly on new configurations, systems, and business needs.
TYPICAL WORK WEEK
- 60% Desktop and application support
- 25% Network support
- 10% Server support
- 5% Meetings, documentation, and internal coordination
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
- Own Tier 2 tickets escalated from our Help Desk, troubleshooting desktop, application, network, server, cloud, and security issues down to the root cause, not just the symptom
- Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, user accounts, security groups, and permissions
- Support and maintain firewalls, switches, wireless networks, servers, and workstations across client environments
- Use scripting, automation, and AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency, standardization, and service delivery.
- Monitor systems, perform preventive maintenance, and verify backups through regular testing and recovery
- Participate in client projects, including deployments, upgrades, and migrations
- Work with vendors and third-party providers to resolve line-of-business and hosted application issues
- Keep clients informed about ticket progress, scheduled changes, maintenance, and outages
- Mentor teammates and share your knowledge
HOW YOU WILL SUCCEED
- Customer service comes first. Our clients rely on us to communicate clearly, not just fix things. You listen before you troubleshoot, explain issues in plain terms, stay patient with frustrated users, and follow up to confirm the problem is actually solved.
- Ownership. You see problems through to resolution, follow through on commitments, and own your mistakes and learn from them.
- Documentation. You record service requests, troubleshooting steps, resolutions, configurations, network and equipment details, and changes so anyone on the team can pick up where you left off.
- Judgment. You work independently, prioritize by urgency and business impact, and know when to bring in a teammate.
- Quality and efficiency. You do the job right the first time, then move on to the next request.
- Adaptability and curiosity. You're comfortable switching between client environments and technologies, and you're always looking to learn more.
