Requirements:- Deep understanding of server architecture, storage systems, and hardware components.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, subnets, VLAN configuration, and structured cabling practices.
- Experience installing and configuring Windows Server, Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu), and virtualization platforms such as VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with basic scripting in Bash, PowerShell, or Python for task automation is a plus.
- Install, rack, stack, and cable servers, switches, and storage arrays.
- Track physical inventory, spare parts, and component replacements using asset management software.
- Configure and deploy operating systems, hypervisors, and baseline software images.
- Set up isolated test networks, VLANs, and testbeds based on engineering requests.
- Perform hardware diagnostics and replace faulty components, including RAM, CPUs, drives, and power supplies.
- Keep server BIOS and network switch firmware up to date.
- Monitor lab environmental controls, including room temperature, power distribution, and cable organization.
- Maintain data-wiping and decommissioning protocols for retired equipment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for lab users and resolve daily access, connectivity, and hardware allocation tickets.
