YMCA Chiltern Group is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our small IT team, supporting approximately 700 staff across more than 80 locations.
Although YMCA Chiltern Group receives some support from a managed service provider (MSP), most of our IT provision is managed in-house. As such, you will be responsible for configuring, supporting and managing our infrastructure and associated applications, helping to improve efficiency across the charity. As a rapidly growing organisation, we have ambitious plans to harmonise IT delivery through single-vendor solutions. This new role will be central to achieving that vision.
What you’ll need:
Please apply if you have excellent working knowledge of PowerShell scripting, Azure, Entra, Exchange, security-group creation and configuration, Intune, SD-WAN, SASE, and firewall configuration using Meraki or Cisco products. You will also act as an escalation point for queries from our service desk and second-line engineers, providing additional support to users in other departments when required. If you have the skills to help us achieve our goals, we would love to hear from you.
Please complete the supporting statement, explaining how your skills meet the requirements in the job description. This will help us shortlist candidates more effectively so please do not submit just a CV listing technologies.
This is a hybrid role that offers the opportunity to work from home. However, regular weekly attendance will be required at our offices in Hatfield and Watford, along with travel to other locations across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Oxfordshire. This role requires you to hold a driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes.
Important information:
We do not provide visa sponsorship; you must be eligible to work in the UK. You must reside in the UK for the duration of your employment and provide Right to Work evidence.
As some of our roles involve working with vulnerable members of society, this position may require a Basic or Enhanced Criminal Disclosure, which will be conducted once a conditional offer is made
Previous Applications: We welcome applications from all qualified candidates. However, if you have applied for a similar role within the last 6 months and were not successful, please consider whether your experience has developed further before reapplying
Accessibility & Adjustments: We are committed to making reasonable adjustments throughout our recruitment process and will strive to be as accommodating as possible. Please inform us in advance of any arrangements you may need to fully participate in the process.
We are an inclusive organisation and actively promote equality of opportunity for all with the right mix of talent, skills, and potential. We do not discriminate on the basis of Age, Disability, Gender Reassignment, Marriage/Civil Partnership, Pregnancy/Maternity, Race, Religion/Belief, Sex and/or Sexual Orientation. We encourage applications from all backgrounds, communities, and industries, and are committed to having a team that is made up of diverse skills, experiences, and abilities.
