Under direction from the Information Technology Manager, this position will assist with planning and organization of the Information Technology department. The candidate will assist in the development of Information Technology policies, procedures, and goals, and will assist the Information Technology Manager with documentation, purchasing, technical research, and cost-reduction efforts throughout the year. This position will also assist routinely with resolving basic IT Helpdesk requests.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
The Information Technology Coordinator's duties are primarily administrative but regularly involve complex technical subject matter. Because this role supports the Information Technology Manager and senior leadership initiatives, the ideal candidate must be able to track, understand, and see advanced projects through to completion. The candidate must also be able to learn minor IT Helpdesk resolution steps and carry them out with little to no supervision.
LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE
Receives direction from the Information Technology Manager.
May exercise technical and functional supervision over technical projects and Information Technology staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Assist and coordinate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the Information Technology department.
- Monitor and manage departmental customer satisfaction.
- Assist with resource planning and resource allocation.
- Assign work tasks to team members.
- Assist with minor IT Helpdesk requests.
- Confer with other departments regarding project priorities and progress; participate in planning, progress, and design review meetings.
- Coordinate resolution of complex and technical problems and system changes that affect the work of the division unit.
- Coordinate and conduct special assignments or projects.
- Assist in developing policies and procedures and assure they are carried out.
- Participate in committees and work groups; may lead or participate in planning or focus groups; may represent the department; maintain a variety of records and technical data.
- Prepare a variety of correspondence including general and special reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Mid-level computing skills, basic network troubleshooting, ability to use diverse software (with training as needed), and virtualized environments.
- Basic technical writing.
- Basic budgeting principles.
- Project management.
- Customer service.
- Ability to maintain high confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
- Great communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is typically performed in an office environment; rarely work in cooled air-conditioned server room; occasional work in confined spaces. Occasionally work in the shop with minimal HVAC and lowered air quality.

- Lifting: frequently up to 10 pounds; occasionally up to 75 pounds.
