Retail interior designer and sales professional who consults with clients, creates design plans, and closes sales for home furnishings in a fast-paced showroom environment.
We are looking for a motivated sales professional to join our Design Team!
As a Designer at Nell Hill's, you will help us enrich lives through creating inspired spaces.
Here, design isn't just what we do - it's who we are. We are a passionate, team-driven retail destination where inspired spaces come to life, and we're looking for a driven, outgoing, sales-focused interiors specialist to join our team. If you love design, thrive in a fast-paced sales environment, and genuinely love connecting with people, we want to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Designer at Nell Hill's, you are equal parts creative visionary and motivated sales professional. You'll work closely with customers and clients to bring their dream spaces to life - while also driving revenue, building lasting client relationships, and contributing to a team culture that takes care of each other and gets things done. This is a retail-based role, and sales performance is a key measure of success.
We need someone who walks through the door ready to make things happen - someone who initiates connections, works with urgency, sees the big picture, and never waits to be told what to do next.
What You'll Do
- Drive Sales - Actively engage clients on the sales floor, identify opportunities, and close sales with confidence and enthusiasm. When you're not working on a design project, you're on the floor generating new business.
- Design Consultations - Advise clients on space planning, layout, color schemes, and product selections that align with their vision, lifestyle, and budget.
- Create Compelling Presentations - Develop detailed proposals including quotes, floor plans, and product specifications for client review and approval.
- Own the Client Experience - Follow up with every client to ensure complete satisfaction, and resolve any post-order issues quickly and efficiently. A problem is never "someone else's."
-
Build & Maintain a Client Book - Proactively reach out to past and potential clients, nurture relationships, and systematically grow your book of business through clienteling efforts.
- Be a Team Player - Collaborate with colleagues, support the sales floor, and contribute to a positive, high-energy environment where everyone helps each other succeed.
What We're Looking For
- A self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who takes initiative without being asked
- An outgoing, personable communicator who naturally connects with people and builds trust quickly
- A sales-driven professional with a passion for interior design and a track record of hitting goals
- Someone who works with urgency and purpose - you're proactive, decisive, and solution-focused
- A team player who sees the bigger picture and steps up to help wherever needed
- Weekend availability is required - our busiest days are when our clients shop
- Someone who embodies good character - honest, dependable, and genuinely invested in the success of clients and colleagues alike
Qualifications
We hire for heart, hustle, and a love for what we do. If you don't check every box but you share our values and have the drive to succeed, apply anyway. Experience matters, but who you are matters more. If you see yourself in this role and share our passion for people and design, we'd love to meet you.
- Formal training or a degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field is a plus - but equivalent experience and a genuine passion for design are equally welcome
- Prior experience in retail sales or a client-facing design role is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in design tools and software (floor planning, mood boards, etc.) is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously is required
- Passion for home décor, furnishings, and the Nell Hill's brand is essential
