Infra/Backend Engineer

Ditto brings all your healthcare moments together in one place. Turn appointments into clear summaries you actually understand, stay on top of your own care, and follow the healthcare journey of someone you love. Because care is something you carry together.

We're looking for a passionate (Senior) Infra/Backend Engineer to amplify our tech and take ownership of backend infrastructure and development at Ditto, a company revolutionizing care by providing the right information at the right time.

Job Description

We're looking for someone to amplify our tech.

Context

Let's bring convenience to care: Ditto is on a mission to revolutionise care by providing people the right info, in the right format, at the right time.

Why?

Imagine your grandmother always bringing one of her children to the hospital, since she does not fully grasp what has been said. Let alone is she able to recall what's going on when she comes home. Or going through ten different apps and hospital portals to stitch together your medical history, in Latin. Healthcare systems are designed for the providers, and leave people feeling passive and ill-understood. In other words, they force us to be patient. We think that should be different, by putting you and your loved ones at the heart of care. That ambition is - naturally - universal and thus actually global.

Who?

A young yet turbo ambitious and experienced team, with little patience for the status quo. We are driven by a shared mission and excited about shipping fast. We hired ex-Google folks for AI, we hired Storytel’s Head of Growth for well, growth. We hope YOU push that bar further.

Since our launch in July 2025, we have hit #1 in the App Store, secured backing from major players like Menzis, and helped ~ 50,000 users understand their care journey. But we are just getting started.

This was a great validation that what we're trying to achieve matters for many.

Who You Are

You are a passionate engineer who finds technology fascinating and enjoys staying up to date with the most effective tools available. You thrive on solving a huge but meaningful challenge and are aligned with Ditto’s mission.

You already know Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot aren’t just tools, they’re how you ship better software, faster. You use AI to amplify your craft, not replace it. This isn’t about generating code and hoping it works; it’s about writing exceptional software with AI as your force multiplier. We are all uncovering new frontiers in technology, and you enjoy actively exploring them with us.

You are an experienced professional who takes ownership of the backend, from infrastructure and development to requirements discovery, devops, design, deployment, and monitoring.

You are a backend ninja!

Key Responsibilities

• Lightning speed delivery. Take responsibility for infrastructure and backend implementation. Design and implement tangible, practical systems and applications (while avoiding over-engineering). Think along but also push back when our bold ambitions are technically infeasible/harder than we naively think.
• Think secure. Ensure that secure solutions are in place from day one. Apply best practices in security for coding and architecture. Conduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks proactively. Proactively design for privacy, compliance, and resilience.
• Product Collaboration. Understand business needs behind each change in software. Work closely with product teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. Ensure flexible architecture, capable to survive significant pivots.

We actively encourage everybody to bring their full selves to work. Join our team, regardless of your background, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, age, or other experiences.
