Primary Function
The Industrial Hygiene Field Inspector performs on-site surveys, inspections, and assessments at various project locations. The position requires preparation of detailed written field reports associated with industrial hygiene, asbestos, lead and microbial projects. They will carry out sampling, field documentation and execute projects that are developed with the client and assigned by a Project Coordinator or a manager. The Industrial Hygiene Field Inspector will serve as a liaison between the client and contractor, ensuring smooth communication and timely resolution of issues. They are a representative of our organization when performing field work and must maintain a knowledgeable and professional presence.
This position will require driving to different job sites and will include a company field vehicle.
Responsibilities

Take lead on projects and complete field work in an efficient and thorough manner.

Collect samples and drop off at local laboratories.

Take notes and photo document job sites.

Write technical field reports that include recommendations and a scope of work for remediation, when applicable.

Clearly communicate vital project information to the Project Coordinators or managers, ensuring seamless coordination and project tracking in a timely manner.

Adapt the scope of work as needed in the field to accommodate actual conditions or changes that arise during project progression.

Identify and secure the necessary tools and equipment required for each project.

Assist with training and mentoring junior staff members, sharing your expertise and contributing to their professional development.
Qualifications

CSST (Certified Site Surveillance Technician) required.

Lead certification preferred: Lead Sampling Technician or Inspector Assessor.

Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and clean driving record.

Must pass annual medical exams and a respirator fit test.

Experience using MS Office programs with the ability to learn new programs.

Effective, professional, clear communication skills, both written and oral.
Experience

Education/Credentials

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor’s of Science in industrial hygiene, health and safety, biological or physical science or equivalent experience preferred.
