In-house Designer (50%, Remote)

World Robot Olympiad (WRO) is one of the world's largest robotics competitions for young people. Every year, more than 175,000 students from over 100 countries take part in WRO events, guided by a global network of National Organizers and culminating in the annual WRO International Final. The WRO Association is the independent non-profit organization behind the competition – we invest all revenue from partnerships, membership and events back into promoting robotics and STEM education worldwide.

As we continue to grow, we are expanding our international team and hiring for several roles, all starting on 1 January 2027. This is a chance to help shape a global education program from the inside, working remotely with a motivated, international team.

We are looking for a part-time In-house Designer (50%) to give WRO a strong, consistent and inspiring visual identity across everything we do – from social media to learning content. This role is advertised at 50%, but for the right person we are open to more hours – up to a full-time position.

Tasks

• Maintain consistency with WRO's visual identity across all materials.
• Develop graphics and visual assets for WRO social media and digital communication.
• Develop presentations, templates and other branded materials.
• Support the Communications team with campaign and event materials.
• Develop graphics for our learning courses on WRO Learn.
• Develop graphics and materials for other WRO programmes and projects.

Requirements

• Solid graphic and visual design experience, with a portfolio you are proud of.
• Proficiency with standard design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite and/or Figma) and confidence building reusable templates.
• Experience keeping a brand consistent and working within a visual identity system.
• Able to design across formats: social media, presentations, digital communication and learning content.
• Bonus: experience with motion/animation, short video, or e-learning graphics.
• Good English (our working language).
• Reliable, fast and comfortable working with feedback and iterations.
• Self-organized and happy working independently in a fully remote team.

Benefits

• A meaningful mission: your design work helps bring robotics and STEM education to young people in 100+ countries.
• A dedicated and truly international team with clear ownership and short decision-making paths.
• Fully remote work with flexible hours – a 50% role that fits around other commitments.
• Creative freedom to shape and evolve how WRO looks and feels.

Working hours

This is a part-time role: 20 hours per week (50%). We work remotely across time zones and ask for at least 4 hours of daily overlap with 07:00–16:00 UTC+0.

Start date

The role starts on 1 January 2027.

How to apply

Interested? Apply directly on this platform. Please include your CV and a motivation letter that explains your fit for this position. We expect a large number of applications and won't be able to reply to everyone, so a genuine, personal motivation letter really helps you stand out. Please write it yourself rather than relying on AI. We are far more interested in your own words and your real reasons for wanting this role than in a polished standard text.

**Application Deadline: November 1st 2026.
