About the role
We are seeking an experienced ICT Network and Systems Engineer to join our Adelaide office on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position that plays a crucial role in designing, implementing and maintaining our network infrastructure and systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security and performance of our IT systems whilst supporting our growing client base. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge security technologies and contribute directly to the protection of critical infrastructure and sensitive data across diverse industry sectors.
Key responsibilities
Design, implement and maintain network infrastructure including firewalls, routers, switches and other networking equipment
Configure and manage server systems, ensuring optimal performance, security and uptime across physical and virtual environments
Monitor network performance and system health using industry-standard tools and implement proactive solutions to prevent downtime
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and remediate potential risks
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for complex network and systems issues, working collaboratively with other IT teams
Develop and maintain documentation for network topologies, system configurations and disaster recovery procedures
Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity
Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices, recommending improvements to existing infrastructure
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members as required
What we're looking for
Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of proven experience in network administration and systems engineering within a professional IT environment
Strong knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, routing and switching technologies
Hands-on experience with firewall configuration and network security principles
Proficiency in server operating systems such as Windows Server and Linux environments
Experience with virtualisation technologies including VMware, Hyper-V or similar platforms
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues methodically and effectively
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft certifications or equivalent are highly desirable
Experience with security-focused infrastructure and knowledge of cybersecurity principles is advantageous
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
