About Birdman
Birdman is a leading plant-based nutrition and supplements company in Mexico, building innovative products that help more people embrace healthier, more sustainable, and cruelty-free lifestyles. As the company enters a new stage of growth and organizational maturity, Birdman is strengthening the capabilities, systems, and leadership needed to scale with excellence.
Today, Birdman brings together a corporate team and a manufacturing operation, with the People function playing a central role in how the company grows, executes, and competes. This role will help shape not only how Birdman hires and develops talent, but how the organization makes decisions, builds leaders, and prepares for its next chapter.
Why People Matters at Birdman
At Birdman, talent is not a support topic. It is one of the company’s most important competitive advantages. The quality of execution and business results depends fundamentally on the quality of the people who join the team, the standards they are held to, and the environment in which they do their work.
Birdman believes that exceptional performance comes from attracting outstanding people, building strong leadership, creating clarity and accountability, rewarding meaningful contribution, addressing sustained underperformance, and fostering a culture in which ambitious and capable individuals can do the best work of their careers. For that reason, the HR Director will be one of the CEO’s closest partners in building the company with the mission to build an A Team under the High Perfromance, High Reward Happy people framwork.
The Opportunity
This is not a traditional administrative HR role. It is a strategic and operational leadership position with direct influence over talent quality, company culture, leadership effectiveness, and business performance. Birdman is looking for a senior People leader who can think like a business leader, operate like a builder, and communicate like a trusted human leader.
The role requires someone who can improve the organization Birdman has today while building the systems, capabilities, and talent needed for tomorrow. You will lead the full Human Resources and People function, strengthen its foundations, and raise its strategic contribution across the business.
Your Mission
Your central mission will be to build a high-talent-density organization of exceptional people who are motivated, accountable, well led, and capable of producing extraordinary results. You will help Birdman raise the talent bar, improve leadership quality, strengthen organizational clarity, build credible performance and reward systems, create a respectful and high-trust employee environment, and prepare the company for continued growth.
What You Will Own
- Serve as the strategic People partner to the CEO, translating business priorities into talent, organizational, and workforce decisions.
- Advise on organizational design, leadership, succession, culture, headcount, promotions, compensation, and performance.
- Elevate corporate, technical, leadership, and other critical hiring through stronger sourcing, structured assessment, and clearer success profiles.
- Define talent standards and strengthen Birdman’s ability to distinguish exceptional performance from solid performance, potential, and underperformance.
- Build and improve performance management, talent review, succession planning, and leadership development systems.
- Shape a high-performance, high-reward culture that is demanding, fair, and aligned with Birdman’s values.
- Lead employee relations, conflict resolution, investigations, disciplinary processes, and terminations with sound judgment and respect.
- Oversee compensation structures, promotion criteria, and incentive approaches that reinforce accountability and differentiated contribution.
- Ensure reliable HR operations across payroll, contracts, personnel administration, compliance, documentation, and day-to-day People processes.
- Support manufacturing workforce planning, frontline management, and labor-relations practices with consistency and rigor.
- Improve the use of People technology, analytics, automation, and AI to increase scalability, quality, and decision-making.
- Build, structure, and lead the People team so it can operate effectively today and scale with the business over time.
High Performance, Happy People
Birdman’s cultural aspiration is High Performance, Happy People. The ambition is not to create an average environment optimized for comfort or low intensity, nor to confuse performance with exhaustion or chaos. Birdman wants to build a culture where ambitious, capable people can pursue meaningful challenges, do their best work and grow meaningfully, while being treated with clarity, fairness, and respect.
In this role, you will help define what that philosophy means in practice across recruitment, onboarding, leadership expectations, goals, feedback, performance reviews, promotions, recognition, and exits. You will help create an environment where intensity is purposeful rather than permanent, where strong performers are challenged and appreciated, and where accountability is direct, coherent, and humane.
The Human Side of Birdman
The HR Director will be one of the most visible representatives of the human side of the organization. That means protecting standards and company interests while also ensuring that employees feel heard, respected, and treated with dignity. Birdman is looking for a leader who can communicate difficult decisions clearly, handle emotionally charged situations calmly, and help managers navigate complexity without becoming distant, bureaucratic, or defensive.
You will help build trust across different levels of the company, support leaders through challenging moments, and ensure that strong performance standards do not come at the expense of respect, credibility, or sustainable execution.
Mexico Today, Global Tomorrow
Birdman’s People operations are concentrated in Mexico today, but the company expects to expand into additional countries over time. This role will help build a People function that works exceptionally well in the current context while also becoming scalable for international growth.
You will help evaluate how policies, systems, operating models, and technology should evolve as the company enters new markets, and contribute to building a more globally scalable People foundation without adding unnecessary complexity.
