Human Resources Business Partner

About Beyond Energy

Beyond Energy Services & Technology is a leading Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) services and technology company focused on delivering safe, innovative and best-in-class solutions to our customers.

Headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Beyond operates in a dynamic and growing industry where operational excellence, safety, innovation and strong people practices are fundamental to our success.

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our Calgary team and provide hands-on HR partnership and support across the organization.

The Opportunity

The HR Business Partner will work closely with leaders and employees to support day-to-day people matters while helping strengthen leadership capability, employee performance and organizational effectiveness.

This is a hands-on role for an HR professional who enjoys being close to the business. The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between employee relations, manager coaching, recruitment, performance management and broader HR initiatives while providing practical and timely advice to leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with managers and leaders on employee relations, performance management, attendance, discipline and other workplace matters.
Provide practical HR guidance and coaching to leaders, supporting consistent and effective people-management practices.
Support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and employee retention initiatives.
Guide managers through performance concerns, development discussions and corrective-action processes.
Support investigations and workplace issue resolution, ensuring matters are handled professionally, consistently and appropriately documented.
Interpret and apply employment legislation, company policies and HR best practices.
Assist with the development, implementation and continuous improvement of HR policies, programs and processes.
Identify emerging workforce issues and proactively recommend practical solutions.
Support organizational change and employee communication initiatives.
Partner with the broader HR team on employee engagement, talent development and other people initiatives.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee documentation and HR records.
Build trusted relationships with employees and leaders across different functions and levels of the organization.

What You Bring

Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline.
Approximately 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally including experience in an HR Business Partner, HR Generalist or similar advisory role.
Strong working knowledge of Alberta employment legislation and HR best practices.
Demonstrated experience supporting employee relations, performance management and workplace investigations.
Strong judgment and the ability to balance employee considerations with operational and business requirements.
Ability to coach and influence managers while developing credible, trusted working relationships.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
High level of professionalism, discretion and integrity when dealing with sensitive information.
A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.
Experience within oil & gas, energy services, industrial, manufacturing or another operational environment is considered an asset.
CPHR designation, or progress toward designation, is considered an asset.

What Success Looks Like

You are someone leaders trust when they have a difficult people issue to resolve. You ask the right questions, understand the operational context and provide clear, practical recommendations rather than simply quoting policy.
You are equally comfortable working on a broader HR initiative and sitting down with a manager to work through an immediate employee concern. You bring sound judgment, follow through on commitments and look for opportunities to continuously improve how HR supports the business.

Why Beyond?

Beyond offers an opportunity to join an innovative and growing organization where HR can have a direct impact on both employees and business performance. We value collaboration, integrity, continuous development and people who are willing to take ownership and contribute beyond the boundaries of their job description.

Beyond Energy Services & Technology is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage qualified individuals from diverse backgrounds to apply.
