Our manufacturing facility is seeking a detail-oriented and employee-focused Human Resources Assistant in Winder, GA to support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. This role serves as a key resource for employees and leaders by assisting with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, benefits support, and employee engagement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, maintains confidentiality, enjoys interacting with employees at all levels of the organization, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The HR Assistant will play an important role in creating a positive employee experience while ensuring HR processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

Post and maintain open positions through the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and external job boards.

Source qualified candidates using recruiting databases, social media, community resources, and networking opportunities.

Conduct initial phone screens and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.

Assist with job fairs, hiring events, and recruitment initiatives.

Coordinate recruiting efforts with temporary staffing agencies, including employee requests, rates, and service levels.

Track recruiting activity and provide hiring status updates and reports.
Onboarding & New Hire Experience

Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding programs.

Ensure all onboarding paperwork and employment documentation are completed accurately and on time.

Maintain employee records within Paycom, HRIS systems, and personnel files.

Conduct 30-, 60-, and 90-day new hire check-ins and surveys.

Serve as a resource for new employees during their transition into the organization.
Employee Relations & Engagement

Act as an advocate for new and existing employees by providing guidance and support.

Respond to routine employee questions regarding policies, attendance, benefits, and workplace programs.

Assist with employee relations concerns and communicate issues to HR leadership as appropriate.

Support initiatives that promote employee engagement, recognition, and morale.

Assist with training, employee development activities, and company events.

Maintain employee communication boards, digital displays, and required workplace postings.
HR Administration & Compliance

Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.

Manage attendance tracking and maintain records for leave programs, including FMLA, LOA, and other absences.

Ensure compliance with company policies, employment regulations, and recordkeeping requirements.

Review temporary employee timecards and staffing invoices for accuracy.

Maintain HR forms, filing systems, and department records.

Assist with disciplinary documentation related to attendance and other routine policy violations.

Support reporting requirements, including headcount, turnover, and recruiting metrics.
Benefits & Payroll Support

Assist employees with benefits-related questions and enrollment activities.

Support annual open enrollment and benefit communication initiatives.

Coordinate 401(k) enrollment and employee education efforts.

Assist employees with vacation, holiday, leave, and policy-related questions.

Cross-train to provide backup support for payroll administration and front desk/reception functions.
Qualifications
Required
-
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
-
One to two years of Human Resources, recruiting, administrative, or related experience.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred
-
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience working in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment.

Experience with HRIS, Paycom, or Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).

Bilingual skills (Spanish or Vietnamese) are highly desirable.

Knowledge of recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and benefits administration.
