About The Role

Imagine a role where your expertise in UK and EU employment law does more than manage risk—it helps shape better decisions, stronger leadership and a workplace where people can thrive. As a HR Business Partner, you will bring your judgement, creativity and passion for people to some of the organisation’s most important conversations, becoming a trusted partner whose voice is valued across Cigna UK.

You will have the freedom and credibility to challenge constructively, turn fresh thinking into practical action and influence decisions at every level. Reporting to the Head of HR UK and partnering closely with the HR Director of Europe, global HR leads and Centres of Excellence, you will help create solutions that are legally sound, commercially smart and genuinely positive for our people.

This is a role for someone who wants their expertise to be seen, trusted and acted upon. You will gain a broad platform to influence business decisions, shape the employee experience and leave a lasting mark on culture—not simply respond to issues as they arise.

• Real influence: A genuine voice in important people and business decisions, with direct exposure to senior leaders across the UK and Europe.
• Meaningful autonomy: The trust and freedom to use your judgement, challenge constructively and lead solutions from idea through to impact.
• Work with purpose: The opportunity to improve the everyday experience of employees while protecting the organisation and enabling sustainable growth.
• Scope to innovate: Space to rethink established approaches, use data and technology creatively and introduce simpler, smarter ways of working.
• Variety and challenge: A broad portfolio spanning complex employee relations, employment law, organisational change, culture and strategic HR priorities.
• Professional visibility and growth: The chance to deepen your expertise, broaden your European perspective and build a reputation as a respected, commercially minded people leader.

If you are looking for a role where you can combine legal depth, human judgement and bold thinking—and see the difference your work makes—this is an opportunity to build something you can be proud of.

This role will be based in both our Glasgow and Greenock offices each week and will operate in a hybrid manner 3 days in the office and 2 from home.

• Partner with the business and HR Centres of Excellence on organisational design and change, helping leaders create effective structures and bring enterprise-wide initiatives to life.
• Spot emerging people, culture and process challenges early, connect the right voices and influence solutions that last.
• Bring new ideas to the table and design simpler, smarter HR processes that improve service quality and the everyday experience of employees and managers.
• Keep HR policies clear, relevant and future-ready through regular review and alignment with company, legal, regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Bring accuracy, care and sound judgement to annual compensation, mid-cycle and ad hoc review processes.
• Use market insight and HR data to uncover trends, anticipate risk and create opportunities to improve how we work.
• Be a visible champion for engagement, health and wellbeing, reward and recognition, helping to build a culture where people feel valued and inspired to perform at their best.
