Hotel Operations Manager - Munich (m/f/d)

YOUR MISSION:

As an Operations Manager, you are the operational engine for a group of Numa properties. Your mission is to work with and lead a team of on-site Operations Coordinators to flawlessly execute our brand and operational standards, bringing your properties to the next level and ensuring our guests have consistently exceptional stays. You don't just oversee the daily operation; you use data to guide your team's focus and to raise the bar, safeguard and keep our buildings in good shape, and ensure financial accuracy and efficiency. You are the calm, decisive problem-solver, leading your pack, ensuring our tech-enabled hotel model runs seamlessly at scale.

YOUR OBJECTIVES: In this role, you will:

• Define & Drive Data-Led Gameplans: Move beyond day-to-day firefighting. Analyze operational metrics, guest feedback, and maintenance logs to identify trends, optimize daily processes, and direct your team's attention to where it is needed most.
• Elevate Quality Standards: Own quality. Act as the ultimate quality control for your properties; you know them inside out. Lead weekly meetings with our external partners to ensure that our high standards for cleanliness, maintenance, and brand consistency are rigorously executed across all your locations.
• Execute Capex and Facility Management Projects: Take responsibility for the physical health of your buildings. You oversee preventative maintenance programmes, execute property improvement projects, and manage relationships with landlords and external contractors.
• Lead & Empower the Team: Manage, coach, and guide a team of Operations Coordinators. You are on-site with them; you ensure they have the tools, structure, and support needed to execute their daily on-site tasks flawlessly and deliver exceptional guest experiences day in and day out.
• Cross-Functional Execution: Act as the bridge between your ground team and central departments (like Guest Experience, Tech, and Finance), ensuring company-wide initiatives are rolled out smoothly and local insights are shared.
• Manage Finances: Support the financial health of your set of properties. You will approve invoices, juggle an operational budget, and collaborate closely with financial controllers to ensure accurate P&Ls and expense tracking and drive financial optimization initiatives.

ABOUT YOU:

We encourage you to apply even if you don't think you meet all of the below criteria. We care most that you are excited about the role and our mission, and are willing to learn. Ideally, you have:

• English Fluency: (C1+ required).
• Team Empowerment: Strong people skills with the ability to coach, structure, and motivate a distributed, hands-on team.
• Data-Driven Mindset: A highly analytical approach—you know how to look at the numbers and translate them into practical action to lift quality and enhance efficiency.
• Financial Awareness: Experience managing operational budgets, approving invoices, and understanding the basic building blocks of a financially healthy operation
• A True Hands-on Mentality: You are in your element when you are away from the desk and out interacting with the physical product. You aren't afraid to get your hands dirty when required, leading by example in supporting your team and partners on site with issues they may encounter.

A Proactive Problem-Solver: You actively seek out creative solutions to long-standing issues rather than waiting for them to escalate.

• Calm Under Pressure: A resilient demeanor when it gets hot in the kitchen.
• Extreme Ownership: You don't say "not my problem"; you deal with issues head-on and take accountability for the performance of your properties and team.
• A "Win Together" Attitude: You know we are stronger as a sports team, working towards a common goal.
• Hospitality Leadership: Previous experience in hospitality management, operations, or facility management, with a track record of guiding or overseeing a team.

ALL HANDS ON DECK: WHEN THINGS DON'T GO TO PLAN ⛵ Hospitality is unpredictable. When a critical incident strikes — such as a burst pipe, fire alarm or power outage, your focus shifts:

• Prioritize Guest Comfort: Even when the building is facing technical difficulties, your primary goal is to ensure our guests feel safe, cared for, and prioritized throughout the disruption.
• Lead the Solution Finding: Remain exceptionally calm under pressure to orchestrate the resolution. While our coordinators support our guests face-to-face, you are on the phone coordinating with landlords, specialized external contractors, or emergency services to fix the root cause.
• Manage the Escalation: Serve as the central point of escalation for your properties. You take responsibility for keeping Senior Operations Managers, the Guest Experience Team, and other key stakeholders informed of the crisis status and resolution timeline. Making sure they have the information they need to support you with decisions.
• Support and Guide Your Team: Provide clear, decisive instructions to your Coordinators on the ground. Ensure they have the resources and backup they need to manage physical communications and prioritize guest comfort safely.
