As an Entry Level, Help Desk Technician, you will learn maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. They install hardware, software and participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of their organization. The Help Desk position also actively resolves problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company
Are you working in a retail environment (Best Buy, Geek Squad, U Break It) looking to transition to a corporate role? This is a great learning opportunity for an entry level employee to learn about technology in the business world. This is an On-Site position, based out of our Des Plaines office. Employee must live within a reasonable commute of our Des Plaines office. Learning opportunities and responsibilities: Maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization Installation and upgrades of computer components and software, management of virtual servers, and automation processes Troubleshooting hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues Performing regular backup operations and implementing appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures Desktop and helpdesk support, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions Assist with management of in-house Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems, including software architecture and hardware components. Work collaboratively with internal and external business units to accomplish objectives, as assigned.
Work on assignments of defined scope using judgment and initiative. Effectively manage multiple priorities. Other duties, as needed.
Requirements:
*Knowledge of PC hardware and networking basics Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
*Strong self-management: Time Management, Organizational, Information Retrieval and Learning skills
*Patience and the ability to listen to others
