HEAVY DUTY DRIVER
Parker Towing | Fort Wayne, IN
$26–$30/hr based on experience + $1,500 Sign-On Bonus
Looking for a change from the typical trucking job? Parker Towing is hiring an experienced Heavy Duty Driver to join our growing team.
This isn't your typical freight-hauling job. You'll operate Heavy-Duty Rotators, Rollbacks, and recovery equipment to assist with towing and recovery calls involving heavy trucks, buses, equipment, and other vehicles.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Operate heavy-duty tow and recovery equipment
- Respond to customer and recovery calls with our Dispatch team
- Tow and recover heavy trucks, buses, trailers, and equipment
- Properly secure vehicles, equipment, and loads
- Perform vehicle inspections and basic maintenance
- Complete required paperwork and electronic documentation
- Communicate with customers, dispatchers, and other team members
- Follow DOT, company, and safety requirements
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Valid CDL appropriate for the equipment being operated
- 2+ years of commercial driving experience
- Heavy-duty towing, recovery, transportation, or related experience preferred
- Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to use tools
- Clean driving record
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Comfortable with technology, GPS, mobile devices, and company software
THIS JOB IS PHYSICAL
Heavy-duty recovery work requires physical activity. You must be able to lift 50+ lbs., climb, crawl, pull, bend, reach, and work around and on heavy equipment. You must also be comfortable working at heights.
