Head of Software Engineering

About the company

We're redefining how the world's most ambitious real estate companies run their operations. Our mission is to become Europe's leading platform for managing warehouse, logistics, retail, and multi-site commercial real estate portfolios - empowering our clients to protect revenue, boost efficiency, and unlock new value across every part of their business.

Our unified CAFM platform already powers the daily operations of over 250 million m² of real estate worldwide, supporting more than 500,000 professionals. Following mergers with leading UK and German property-operations businesses, we now help manage 100,000+ buildings across 35+ countries - and we're just getting started.

Backed by a leading growth equity investor, we're scaling rapidly and partnering with global leaders in logistics, retail and commercial real estate. As we grow through strategic acquisitions and bold innovation, we stay true to our core values: adaptability, collaboration, and client focus.

What you'll do

• Lead and mentor engineering managers across several European locations, fostering strong delivery performance, people growth, and a healthy engineering culture.

• Develop and execute the engineering strategy, ensuring consistent standards, modernization, and alignment with the overall platform and architecture vision.

• Partner with the CTPO on engineering priorities, delivery frameworks, and scaling initiatives across brands and teams.

• Build a strong cross-location culture centered on accountability, autonomy, and shared engineering excellence.

• Oversee modernization of applications and harmonization of tools, practices, and delivery processes.

• Collaborate closely with Product and Platform Engineering teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable systems.

• Assist with M&A activities, including technical due diligence and onboarding of new engineering teams into the company's way of working.

• Take part in meetings with some of the largest existing and potential clients to build technical trust.

• Travel occasionally to meet teams in various locations in Europe to maintain collaboration and engagement.

What you'll bring

• Experience as Head of Software Engineering or Director of Software Engineering, ideally in a complex, multi-location enterprise SaaS.

• Proven track record leading distributed engineering teams and driving alignment across geographies.

• Strong understanding of modern software development across various backend, frontend, and mobile technologies.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders, including enterprise clients.

• Fluent English (C1+ level), spoken and written.

• Experience with M&A integration, including technical due diligence and integration of acquired teams, is a plus.

• A strong leadership mindset focused on empowerment, clarity, and consistent, high-quality delivery in a growing organization.
