Head of Fleet

About HIVED 📦

At HIVED, we’re steamrolling forward as one of Europe’s fastest growing startups, and our momentum shows no signs of slowing.

Based in London, we are a climate and logistics start-up building the first sustainable parcel delivery network at scale, powered by a 100% electric fleet. In an ever-growing industry where unreliable service has long been the norm, HIVED has been built from the ground-up to meet the demands of modern consumers and disrupt parcel delivery.

A tech company at heart, our talent and technology is laser-focused on delivering the best possible delivery experience for end-customers and meeting the needs of our retail partners. From our drivers to our data engineers, we are constantly working to improve this customer experience that makes us deliver better.

Already trusted by leading international brands such as John Lewis, Nespresso, Uniqlo, H&M brands and more, we are solidifying our position as the leaders in Europe to tackle this growing market.

Our tight-knit team is made up of ex-Revolut, DeepMind, Bain, HelloFresh, ASOS, Apple and Google employees, and we are backed by some of Europe’s leading investors and VCs in climate-tech, logistics and mobility including Planet A Ventures, Maersk Growth, Pale Blue Dot VC, Eka Ventures, NordicNinja VC and the British government. We’re passionate about driving innovation and redefining the future of delivery.

Our Values

• 😊 We Are Kind - Kind to the planet, our team and our partners. We listen with purpose, leave our egos at the door and aren't afraid to make difficult decisions. We must never confuse kindness with being "nice" - it requires us to be fair, consistent, honest, thoughtful and compassionate.

• 🤝 We Are Tenacious - We fight every day to keep the customer promise, for every parcel entrusted to us. No matter how hard it gets or whatever stands in our way, we are relentless in our pursuit of excellence.

• 💡 We Are Curious - We never settle, constantly challenge convention and are never afraid to ask why. We believe there is always more to learn, always a better way, and that we're always only just getting started. We never fight the urge to be inquisitive, to understand the world around us and to explore where others might not.

• 🌍 We Are Resourceful - Our planet's resources are scarce and our future depends on our ability to use them wisely. Waste is the enemy. We strive to do more with less, be more efficient and make the most of what we have.

Role Overview 📝

As the Head of Fleet, you will be the architect and guardian of our fleet. You will be responsible for leading and scaling our fleet operations across multiple decentralised locations, ensuring that our 100% electric fleet is the most efficient, safe, and compliant in the industry.

This is a high-leverage leadership role where you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of our assets—from multi-million pound procurement strategies to the daily grit of workshop operations. You will sit at the intersection of Operations, Finance, and Tech, ensuring our fleet is not just operational, but optimised for Total Cost of Ownership and ready for rapid expansion.

What you’ll be doing 🚀

• Lead Fleet Strategy & Procurement: Define and execute the long-term roadmap for our fleet. You’ll lead the exploration of new vehicle types and negotiate high-value procurement deals that align with HIVED’s sustainability and growth goals. You will lead our thinking on remarketing strategy, optimum holding periods, and financing arrangements.

• Own Repair & Maintenance: Oversee our internal workshop operations and manage external garage partnerships. You’ll ensure we strike the balance between internal speed and external expertise to minimise Vehicle Off-Road time.

• Command a Decentralised Team: Provide strong, inspirational leadership to fleet teams across multiple London depots. You’ll ensure high standards of performance and safety are maintained consistently, even when you aren't on-site.

• Manage the Admin Function: Take full ownership of the fleet admin function, including insurance claim processing and the end-to-end management of PCNs, turning high-volume tasks into streamlined, efficient processes.

• Drive Fleet Compliance & Safety: Ensure HIVED remains the gold standard for safety. You will be responsible for maintaining a fully compliant fleet, adhering to all regulatory requirements and O-Licence undertakings.

• Optimise Total Cost of Ownership: Use data-led insights to analyse fleet performance. You will independently identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency without compromising on quality or safety. You will own vehicle unit economics and TCO and report to the executive team on key metrics.

What we’re looking for 🔎

• 8+ years of Fleet Leadership: You have significant experience heading up large-scale fleet operations, ideally within a high-growth or fast-paced logistics environment.

• Champions our values: You embody our company values and set behavioural standards throughout the team. You are widely trusted as a cultural standard-bearer and can build cross functional alignment.

• Decentralised Management Expert: You have a proven track record of managing teams and assets across multiple physical locations, ensuring operational excellence from afar.

• Strategic & Analytical Mindset: You don’t just manage; you optimize. You are comfortable using data to inform procurement decisions, maintenance schedules, and budget management.

• Strong Communicator & Stakeholder Manager: You can engage with everyone from on the ground workshop mechanics to executive leadership, providing confidence in your strategy and updates.

• Unwavering Sense of Ownership: You thrive on open-ended problems and take pride in building a safe, robust, and scalable fleet that represents the future of delivery.

• EV Experience Preferred: Experience managing electric vehicle (EV) fleets and understanding the nuances of charging infrastructure and battery health is highly advantageous.
