Your Everyday at Nexi
As a Head of Accounting DACH, you’ll join a collaborative and forward-thinking team based in Eschborn. You will lead and develop the Accounting function across several German legal entities in a regulated, international environment, ensuring accurate and timely statutory and IFRS reporting, strong accounting controls and compliance with Group policies while supporting Finance transformation and strategic projects.
About Your Future Role
In this position, you will:
- Lead and develop the Accounting team, ensuring reliable day-to-day delivery as well as clear succession and capability planning
- Ensure compliance with local statutory accounting requirements across the relevant legal entities and escalate material accounting and compliance risks
- Own the monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Ensure accurate financial reporting under IFRS and HGB, including the quality and integrity of underlying accounting data
- Take responsibility for statutory financial statements and coordinate external audits
- Maintain strong balance-sheet quality, accounting controls and governance across the relevant entities
- Drive the remediation of audit findings and ensure effective implementation of agreed actions
- Drive accounting-related transformation, process standardization, automation and improvements in finance systems and ways of working
- Contribute to finance transformation, integration initiatives and other strategic and operational projects in the Accounting area
- Work closely with Regulatory Reporting, Treasury, FP&A, Tax, Compliance, Internal Audit and Group Finance
- Act as a key contact for external auditors and relevant internal stakeholders on accounting matters
- Support the further development of the Finance function across DACH and contribute to the shaping of the Finance organization as a member of the CFO DACH leadership team
- Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies, internal controls and governance requirements across the relevant legal entities

Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) is preferred.
- Several years of experience in leading an accounting function in an international, matrixed environment.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and HGB; Hands-on experience with monthly, quarterly and annual closing, statutory financial statements and external audits; Strong understanding of accounting controls, governance and balance-sheet quality.
- Experience in complex, international or regulated environments, preferably within payments, banking or fintech; Proven track record of improving accounting processes, governance, financial controls and automation; Experience with finance systems and transformation initiatives.
- Strong leadership and people development skills with the ability to coach and develop accounting teams; Strong sense of accountability and ownership; Structured, process-oriented and pragmatic approach with a strong delivery focus; Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ; Customer-centric mindset while maintaining strong financial control and regulatory compliance.
