Global SVP of Marketing

DEPT® is a Growth Invention company. We help the world's most ambitious brands grow by bringing together technology, AI, creativity and data to invent what's next. With more than 4,000 specialists across 30+ markets, we work at the intersection of marketing and technology for clients including Google, Meta, Lufthansa, eBay and OpenAI.

Marketing at DEPT® isn't a support function. It's how we define our place in the market. As Global SVP of Marketing, you'll own DEPT®'s global brand strategy, positioning and market narrative. You'll shape how clients see us, how our people rally behind us, and how the industry talks about us. In short, your job is to make DEPT® impossible to ignore.

You'll lead the global brand organisation, responsible for positioning, communications, creative and social, while setting the direction regional growth teams build upon across EMEA, AMER and APAC.

We're looking for a leader who combines strategic ambition with genuine warmth. Someone who raises the bar, creates clarity, develops people, and protects the culture that makes great work possible.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Own DEPT®'s global positioning, messaging and narrative, ensuring one clear story across every market.
• Translate complex technology and AI capabilities into stories clients understand, believe and buy.
• Own DEPT®'s global reputation across clients, talent, media and partners.
• Lead executive communications and thought leadership, partnering closely with the CEO and executive team.
• Build meaningful relationships with media, analysts, platforms and strategic partners that strengthen DEPT®'s influence.
• Represent DEPT® externally as a recognised voice on AI, creativity, marketing transformation and the future of growth.
• Set the creative standard for everything DEPT® puts into the world.
• Own DEPT®'s biggest global moments; from product launches and Cannes activations to flagship reports and industry announcements.
• Partner with regional marketing leaders to ensure global strategy translates into commercial impact.
• Work closely with Commercial leadership on major pitches, strategic accounts and go-to-market priorities.
• Continuously challenge how marketing operates by embracing AI, experimentation and new ways of working.
• Own the global marketing budget, making investment decisions based on strategic impact and measurable business outcomes.
• Help shape DEPT® itself; bringing perspective beyond marketing into company strategy, organisational change and future opportunities.

YOUR PROFILE

• 10+ years leading global B2B marketing in a fast-growing technology, agency, consulting or digital business.
• Proven experience building brands that create commercial advantage; not simply awareness.
• A track record of translating strategy into measurable business growth through positioning, reputation and demand generation.
• Experience advising CEOs and executive teams on market positioning, communications and reputation.
• Strong commercial instincts; you understand pipeline as well as positioning.
• Exceptional storytelling skills. You know how to simplify complexity without losing credibility.
• Experience leading senior multidisciplinary teams across multiple countries and cultures.
• You're known for building high-performing teams without creating high-pressure cultures. You set clear direction, simplify complexity, advocate for your people and bring out the best in those around you.
• Curious about AI, technology and the future of marketing, with a desire to experiment rather than follow.
• Based in Amsterdam or willing to relocate.

WE OFFER

• A flexible, hybrid working policy (2-3 days from the office, depending on location) and the opportunity to work from abroad for 13 weeks a year.
• 24 vacation days per year and the possibility to buy an unlimited number of extra vacation days.
• DEPT®/YOU Learning Menu and DEPT®/YOU Special Programs. Develop your skills with courses and programs tailored to your needs.
• Stay happy and healthy with a contribution to your health through the OpenUp platform, gym and wellness discounts, and healthy lunches at the office.
• Get a discount on your lease bike and ride in style. You can also enjoy hassle free-commutes with an NS Business Card.
• A reputation for doing good. DEPT® has been a Certified B Corp® since 2021, has been named a Great Place To Work since 2022 in the Netherlands and named ‘Agency of the Year’ at both The Lovies and The Webby Awards.
• Awesome clients. Whether big, small, local or global — at DEPT® you’ll get the opportunity to work with all of them. And we celebrate all of our successes together!

WHY DEPT®?

We are a Growth Invention company built to help the world’s most ambitious brands grow faster. Operating at the intersection of technology and marketing, we create what is next by pioneering ideas, acting fast, and moving further because standing still just is not in our DNA.

We are drawn to people who stay curious, move with intent, and never stop inventing. Our culture runs on three values: better together, relentlessly curious, and get sh*t done. It is how we work, how we grow, and how we make things that matter.

At DEPT®, you will find the freedom to explore, the space to collaborate, and the trust to make a real impact for our clients, for each other, and for the world we are helping to build.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION

At DEPT®, we take pride in creating an inclusive workplace where everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive. We actively seek to recruit, develop, nurture, and retain talented individuals from diverse backgrounds, with varying skills and perspectives.

Not sure you meet all qualifications? Apply, and let us decide! Research shows that women and members of underrepresented groups tend not to apply for jobs when they think they may not meet every requirement, when in fact they do. We believe in giving everyone a fair chance to shine.

We also encourage you to reach out to us and discuss any reasonable adjustments we can make to support you throughout the recruitment process and your time with us.
