Global Community Events Manager

Metabase is the easiest way for people to get insights from their data, from tiny startups who get up and running quickly to major corporations with tens of thousands of users. That's why people love us.

We bring data tools with the elegance and simplicity of consumer products to the crufty world of enterprise business intelligence. We provide an opinionated open source starting point for how companies should measure, analyze and share their data, which is used by tens of thousands of companies.

We've seen firsthand how powerful in-person community connection can be — from our flagship Meetabase in Argentina to customer-hosted events in Madrid, and casual bar meetups organized when team members travel through Europe. We're ready to take this to the next level, and we're looking for someone who can help us think and operate at a different scale. That means owning a full portfolio of event types — from our annual user conference to executive dinners to community-hosted gatherings — and bringing an experimental mindset to all of it. You won't just execute events well; you'll design programs, run tests, measure what works, and build a scalable playbook grounded in real data.

Event portfolio

• Lead planning and execution of our annual user conference (Meetabase) end-to-end

• Support and scale community-hosted events by providing toolkits, resources, and coordination for local organizers who want to run their own gatherings

• Own demand gen events, including executive dinner and VIP programming — curating guest lists, formats, and experiences that deepen relationships with key customers and prospects

• Coordinate informal and formal meetups and community visits globally

Operations and measurement

• Own all event logistics: venue sourcing and negotiation, catering, AV, signage, swag, guest lists, and international shipping

• Manage event budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement across multiple time zones and currencies

• Define and track KPIs for every event type — from attendance and engagement to pipeline influence and community NPS — and report out regularly

• Gather attendee feedback — quantitative and qualitative — and synthesize insights to continuously raise the bar on quality and impact

• Build and maintain playbooks, templates, and toolkits so programs can be handed off, replicated, and improved over time

• Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Success Engineering on branding, messaging, and lead handoff

This role is the strategic engine behind how Metabase shows up for its community in the real world. Every event you design is both a relationship-builder and a learning opportunity — a chance to deepen connections, surface honest feedback, generate new evangelists, and test what actually moves the needle. You're not just running events; you're building a program that compounds over time.

We're a global team (50% outside the US), fully distributed (from Thailand to California), who get things done asynchronously, with plenty of uninterrupted time, supporting each other to do the best work of our careers. We offer flexibility (define your own schedule and work from wherever you want), autonomy, and an environment that fosters growth, learning, and development. We're relentlessly user-focused and believe in building long-term value, not short-term hacks. And we raised a $30M Series B to take our approach to the next level for years to come.
