Global Commodity Manager — Mechanical & Electromechanical
Position Summary
NEOTech is seeking a highly driven and strategic Global Commodity Manager – Mechanical & Electromechanical Components to lead global sourcing, supplier strategy, cost management, and supply-chain development for custom mechanical and electromechanical components supporting NEOTech’s Build-to-Print (BTP) business across multiple sites.
This role will have strategic responsibility for commodities including metals, plastics, displays, custom transformers, magnetics, and other custom electromechanical components.
The position will develop and execute global commodity strategies focused on cost reduction, supplier consolidation, dual sourcing, risk mitigation, quality improvement, capacity, lead-time reduction, and continuity of supply.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electromechanical manufacturing processes, combined with strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, cost analysis, and cross-functional leadership capabilities.
This individual will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Program Management, and Supply Chain teams to support requirements from prototype and NPI through mass production, ensuring suppliers meet NEOTech expectations for cost, quality, delivery, technology, and service.
Key Responsibilities
Commodity & Supplier Strategy

Develop and execute global commodity strategies for metals, plastics, displays, custom transformers, magnetics, and related mechanical/electromechanical components.

Drive supplier consolidation, dual sourcing, risk mitigation, and long-term supply-chain resiliency initiatives.

Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop competitive global suppliers capable of supporting complex BTP manufacturing requirements.

Establish strategic supplier partnerships focused on pricing, capacity, technology, quality, lead time, and service performance.

Develop sourcing strategies based on commodity technology, manufacturing capability, geography, capacity, and total cost.
Strategic Sourcing & Cost Management

Lead RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and competitive sourcing activities across assigned commodities.

Perform detailed quote analysis, should-cost modeling, supplier benchmarking, and total-cost-of-ownership analysis.

Negotiate pricing, payment terms, rebates, tooling, NRE, MOQ, lead times, inventory programs, and commercial agreements.

Drive annual cost reductions, productivity savings, and cost-avoidance initiatives.

Analyze raw material trends, market conditions, capacity constraints, tariffs, and supply-chain risks to develop mitigation strategies.

Identify opportunities for design-to-cost, supplier optimization, material substitution, and manufacturing-process improvements.
Technical & Manufacturing Support

Serve as the commodity SME for applicable mechanical and electromechanical manufacturing technologies.

Partner with Engineering and suppliers on DFM, manufacturability, material selection, tooling, process optimization, and cost reduction.

Support prototype, NPI, production ramp, and engineering-change activities.

Work with Engineering to identify alternative materials, processes, and supplier technologies.

Collaborate with Quality teams on supplier performance, corrective actions, audits, and continuous improvement.
Supplier Performance & Relationship Management

Own strategic supplier relationships for assigned commodities.

Monitor supplier performance across quality, delivery, lead time, capacity, cost, responsiveness, and service.

Conduct supplier business reviews, factory visits, capability assessments, and supplier audits.

Establish supplier KPIs and drive accountability for continuous improvement.

Serve as the primary escalation point for critical supplier quality, capacity, delivery, and commercial issues.

Develop supplier capacity strategies aligned with NEOTech's current and future demand.
Cross-Functional Leadership

Partner closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Program Management, Finance, and Executive Leadership.

Present sourcing strategies, supplier recommendations, cost-reduction opportunities, capacity risks, and mitigation plans to leadership.

Drive global standardization of suppliers, pricing structures, specifications, contracts, and payment terms.

Leverage NEOTech's global spend to improve supplier competitiveness and commercial terms.

Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve cost, quality, delivery, technology, and supply-chain resilience.
Travel
-
Ability to travel globally based on business needs (up to 50%), including travel to Juárez, Mexico; Asia-Pacific; North America; and supplier locations globally.

Travel may include supplier visits, business reviews, factory audits, sourcing events, quality escalations, and strategic supplier-development activities.
