A little bit about you
You are a senior enterprise leader who can bring specialist disciplines together into one connected, well-governed People function, while respecting the technical expertise within each. You bring strategic thinking, sound judgement and a genuine commitment to building a safe and inclusive workplace.
More specifically you will have:
A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Organisational Development, Work Health and Safety, Information Systems or a related discipline
Significant senior leadership experience across multidisciplinary People, corporate enabling or workforce functions in a complex organisation
Strong experience in at least two of the following: work health and safety, organisational capability and learning, HR systems/technology, payroll, workforce analytics, or equity, diversity and inclusion
Demonstrated experience sponsoring transformation, systems improvement or process redesign with measurable service and risk outcomes
Experience leading specialist teams and partnering with executives and operational leaders across a multi-site environment
Sound knowledge of Victorian occupational health and safety obligations, including psychosocial health and safety, and a strong understanding of payroll governance, data integrity and control environments
Highly developed strategic thinking, governance, risk and assurance capability, with excellent influencing, stakeholder management and executive reporting skills
About the role
As General Manager, People Enablement, Safety and Capability, you will lead the group-wide enabling functions that support a safe, capable, inclusive, compliant and well-supported workforce across St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria, VincentCare Victoria (VCV) and VincentCare Community Housing (VCCH). Your portfolio brings together Learning and Development and organisational capability, Work Health and Safety, People systems and data, payroll, and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
A key focus is to create reliable and scalable People infrastructure, strengthen workforce and leadership capability, embed physical and psychological safety, improve payroll and system integrity, and advance an inclusive culture in which employees, volunteers and members can contribute and thrive.

Key responsibilities
Lead the People Enablement, Safety and Capability portfolio in alignment with the People Strategy, organisational strategy, mission and values
Provide group-wide leadership and governance for work health and safety and wellbeing, ensuring physical and psychological safety are integrated into organisational decision making, change and operational practice
Lead the group-wide learning, development and capability agenda, including leadership development, role capability, mandatory learning and workforce development
Provide executive ownership of the People systems and technology environment, including system governance, service quality, data integrity and access controls
Provide senior accountability for payroll service delivery, governance, controls and continuous improvement
Provide strategic leadership for equity, diversity and inclusion, supporting culturally safe, inclusive and accessible practices across the group
Leads, coaches and develops specialist leaders and teams across the portfolio.
Builds a collaborative culture that values professional expertise, evidence-based practice, service excellence and continuous improvement.
