Fullstack Engineer

Do you want to build solutions that make a real difference for millions of savers and help shape the future of banking? We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer with a strong focus on modern frontend development (Angular) and a solid foundation in Java. You’ll join an environment where technical innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement are deeply valued.

Why Avanza?

At Avanza, technology is more than just code — it is a tool for creating a positive impact in society. We combine high technical ambitions with a genuinely fun, flexible, and egoless work environment. We work in autonomous teams, share knowledge openly, and celebrate our successes together. For teams managing core infrastructure or critical systems, rotating on-call duty is a natural part of our commitment to operational ownership.

We are on an exciting journey. As Avanza expands into Denmark, we are undergoing a major cloud transformation toward Google Cloud Platform (GCP). By 2030, our goal is to be fully cloud-based and "AI-first”.

Avanza is currently transitioning to English as our primary language. We welcome English-speaking candidates who are comfortable working in an environment where Swedish is still used in day-to-day communication, meetings, and documentation. We expect this to evolve as we continue our transformation.

About the role

As a Fullstack Engineer, you will join one of our 45 agile teams, taking end-to-end ownership of your work—from the initial idea to ensuring your code runs reliably in production. For this role, we are looking for an experienced frontend developer or a full-stack developer with a clear focus and passion for frontend development.

In your day-to-day work, you will:

• Own the full stack: Design and develop scalable web applications in a microservices architecture, focusing on responsive interfaces in Angular and robust business logic in Java.

• Collaborate deeply: We strongly believe in pair and mob programming to share knowledge, improve code quality, and solve complex problems together.

• Shape our technology: Use your expertise to actively contribute to design processes and architectural decisions.

• Shape the way we work tomorrow (AI-first): You have an interest in AI and, in this role, you will actively contribute to continuously improving the interaction between people, AI, and our codebase. You will help define the standards for how AI can drive efficiency and quality in our work.

• Work cross-functionally: Partner with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Data Analysts to create seamless, optimized user journeys.

Who are you?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-driven team player. You are a proactive problem-solver who takes initiative, turns ideas into action, and isn't afraid to make mistakes along the way. You contribute to maintaining and strengthening psychological safety within the team and thrive in an environment where asking for help is just as natural as offering it.

We believe that you

• Have proven experience as a Software Engineer with in-depth knowledge of modern frontend frameworks (primarily Angular), combined with a solid foundation in Java.

• Have strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/ TypeScript.

• Experience working in cross-functional teams and an appreciation for close collaboration with non-developers, such as designers and analysts.

• Experience building and maintaining applications in complex production environments, with a strong focus on clean, testable, and well-structured code.

• Have hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and a curiosity to explore how AI can enhance our work.

Experience within Fintech, Martech, or a particular interest in UX is a plus.

A culture of community and sustainability

We believe the best results are achieved in psychologically safe teams where everyone has a voice. That's why we place great importance on collaboration, openness, and enjoying our work. At Avanza, you will have the space to grow at your own pace and combine your career with a sustainable life.

Our guiding principles are Customer First, Smarter Together, and Better. For Real. We put our customers at the heart of what we do, collaborate to achieve more together, and constantly challenge the status quo to find innovative solutions that make a real difference.

We operate a hybrid working model and would love to see you in our newly renovated office at Regeringsgatan 103, about 2–3 days a week.
