What you'll love:

• Real ownership and influence over technical decisions
• Flexible working from our Christchurch office
• A close-knit, collaborative team where your ideas are heard
• Exposure across front-end, back-end, integrations, and platform development
• Opportunities to grow your technical depth
• A product used daily by businesses delivering amazing tourism experiences

About the Role

As a Full Stack Developer you'll play an important role in building, enhancing, and supporting the technology that powers online bookings, ticketing, payments, and customer experiences for tourism and travel operators across New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific. You'll work across both customer-facing web experiences and the backend systems that support them, contributing to everything from booking widgets and payment integrations through to platform development and browser-based application modernisation. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of work from investigation through to deployment, working in a collaborative team where your ideas and contributions genuinely make an impact.

What you'll do:

• Build and enhance customer-facing booking widgets, portals, and web applications.
• Develop responsive, mobile-friendly experiences using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Troubleshoot and improve booking, checkout, and payment workflows.
• Develop and maintain object-oriented components within CustomLinc's proprietary platform.
• Integrate and support third-party APIs, payment gateways, and business systems.
• Implement and maintain analytics, tracking, and reporting solutions.
• Contribute to the ongoing transition from a legacy Windows application to a modern browser-based platform.
• Investigate and resolve production issues using a methodical and customer-focused approach.
• Collaborate with developers, support teams, and stakeholders to deliver practical solutions.
• Grow your technical capability across platform architecture, hosting, security, and infrastructure over time.

About You

We're looking for a developer who understands how modern web applications work end-to-end and enjoys solving complex problems. You'll bring strong front-end development skills, experience with an object-oriented programming language, and a methodical approach to troubleshooting and debugging. You'll be comfortable working with APIs, collaborating with others, and using AI tools to improve productivity and development outcomes.

You'll ideally have:

• Strong experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web development.
• A solid understanding of client-side and server-side application architecture.
• Experience with AJAX, asynchronous requests, and debugging browser-based applications.
• Experience with an object-oriented language such as C#, Java, C++, Python, or similar.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and confidence using browser developer tools.
• Experience working with third-party APIs, integrations, and payment or analytics platforms.
• Excellent attention to detail and a passion for creating high-quality user experiences.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Confidence using AI tools to support coding, debugging, documentation, and productivity.
• A willingness to learn new technologies, including the Jade platform.

It would be great if you also have experience with:

• Jade development.
• IIS administration and web hosting environments.
• Payment gateway integrations.
• Google Tag Manager or GA4.
• Web application security.
• Tourism, travel, ticketing, or booking platforms.
• Modernisation projects involving legacy applications.

Our Ideal Developer

You'll thrive here if you enjoy:

• Thinking beyond just writing code
• Understanding how systems work end-to-end
• Owning problems from investigation through to resolution
• Working in a small, agile team where everyone contributes
• Continuously improving your craft and learning new technologies

Ready to Apply?

We'd love to hear from you, when applying, tell us:

• How you use AI tools in your day-to-day development work
• An object-oriented language you've worked with and how you approach learning new technologies
• A challenging production issue you've solved
• Why the combination of modern web development and platform modernisation appeals to you
