By making our complex tools feel simple and magical, they directly empower small business owners to thrive in a competitive market.
Job Description
Wheelhouse is a revenue management platform for the $500B+ flex rental space. Our technology empowers short & mid-length stay operators, who manage single-family homes, apartment buildings, and(in some cases) hotels - a broad & massive addressable market. Wheelhouse believes a more flexible & connected world is both inevitable & important, and we build technology to make sure the businesses that enable this lifestyle & society can thrive.
As a team, we enjoy shipping products our customers love, on time or ahead of schedule, while balancing work/life & having fun together. We’re best described as transparent & collaborative, and we strive to set our teammates up for success - both professionally & personally. We’re a remote-first, work-anywhere, and“yes - you should make time for that adventure/vacation” company, who believes that“healthy hustle” is the key to good growth.
Now, we’re looking for a creative and technical Full Stack Engineerengineer to join our engineering team. You will be joining a team that includes other front-end engineers, a designer, and backend-leaning full-stack engineers. Your role will be to elevate the quality of our interface, ensuring that our complex data is presented with clarity and elegance. You won't just be taking tickets; you'll be shaping the product experience.
Thinks in Components: You don't just build pages; you build scalable and reusable components that make the whole team faster.
Works Independently: You value independent work and ownership and communicate with business stakeholders for clarification.
Craves Clarity: You look at a complex pricing table and immediately start thinking about how to simplify it for the user without losing fidelity.
Is a**"Finisher":** You care about the last 10%—the micro-interactions, the loading states, and the empty states that make a product feel polished.
Teaches and Learns: You are excited to mentor backend-leaning colleagues on CSS grid or React hooks, and equally excited to learn from them about database optimization.
Values**"Healthy****Hustle":** You work smart, communicate early, and believe that burning the midnight oil is rarely the answer to a hard problem.
Visualizing the Market: Building interactive charts and dashboards that allow users to visualize occupancy rates, revenue pacing, and competitive sets.
Simplifying Complexity: redesigning core workflows to make sophisticated revenue management settings accessible to non-technical hosts.
Collaborating on Design: Partnering early with our designer and product team to prototype features, ensuring technical feasibility without compromising UX.
Architecting the Front-End: Making key decisions on state management, data fetching strategies, and performance optimization to keep the app snappy.
Shipping & celebrating: deploying code weekly(or daily) and sharing your wins with the team.
Experience: 4+ years of full-stack development experience, with a "T-shaped" skill set that is deep in Front-End technologies. Technical Stack:
Visual Engineering: A strong grasp of CSS and responsive design and ideally experience with data visualization libraries (e.g., Highcharts, D3.js, Recharts). Product Sense: Ability to critique a design in Figma not just for feasibility, but for usability. You understand that the job isn't done until the user succeeds. Remote DNA: Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, communicate asynchronously, and manage your own "healthy hustle."
Thinks in Components: You don't just build pages; you build scalable and reusable components that make the whole team faster.
