Full Stack Engineer (React/Python) (2 Year Contract)

We are looking for an experienced

Full Stack Engineer

to join a product development team building and enhancing sophisticated, data-driven applications with complex workflows and AI-enabled capabilities.

You will work across the full technology stack, developing new product modules and improving existing systems using

React / TypeScript

on the frontend and

Python

on the backend. The role suits an engineer who is comfortable contributing to technical discussions, challenging ideas constructively, and making sound engineering decisions across application architecture, development and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain full-stack web applications using React and TypeScript for frontend development and Python frameworks such as Django or FastAPI for backend services Build and enhance application modules supporting complex, data-intensive and AI-powered workflows Develop scalable, maintainable and resilient application components and services Design and integrate APIs and backend services across application and data systems Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and related DevOps tooling Containerise and deploy applications using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes Develop automated tests and contribute to software quality assurance practices Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions and architecture decisions Collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, data engineers and other stakeholders Make technical decisions that balance performance, scalability, maintainability and business requirements Contribute technical insights and recommendations to continuously improve engineering practices and product quality

Requirements

3+ years of experience in full-stack web application development Strong proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks, preferably React Strong experience with Python backend development using frameworks such as Django, FastAPI or Flask, with Django experience preferred Experience developing and integrating REST APIs and backend services Good understanding of software architecture, system design and distributed systems Experience working within collaborative software development teams using Git Hands-on experience with CI/CD and automated software testing and deployment Experience deploying containerised applications using tools such as Docker and Kubernetes Good understanding of DevOps principles and modern software delivery practices Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and make sound engineering decisions

Nice to Have

Experience developing applications involving significant AI, machine learning or data analytics integration Experience working alongside data scientists and data engineers in multidisciplinary teams Experience building applications involving complex data workflows or AI-powered functionality Familiarity with observability and monitoring, including tools such as OpenTelemetry Experience working on large-scale enterprise or government digital systems Familiarity with Singapore Government ICT&SS / IM8 policies and standards
