Make a real impact—build tech that transforms lives

Karista is on a mission to positively impact 1 million lives. We're redefining how Australians access home care, NDIS, aged care, and therapy services—connecting individuals with tailored support and empowering providers with smart, data-driven tools.

We're growing fast and looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join our passionate team in Cremorne, Melbourne. If you're driven by purpose, love solving complex problems, and want to build software that matters, this is your chance to make a difference.

What We’re Looking For

We care more about how you think and work than which specific tools you've used. You should be able to:

• Design and build end-to-end, comfortable owning a feature from front-end interface through back-end service to deployment.
• Write clean, maintainable code that others can build on, with strong instincts for testing, debugging, and version control discipline.
• Think in systems, understanding how your changes ripple across a platform with many moving parts and integrated services.
• Diagnose and solve problems independently, across the front end, back end, and infrastructure layers, without needing everything spelled out.
• Build with security and compliance in mind by default, particularly when handling sensitive personal or health-related data.
• Communicate and collaborate well in a small, cross-functional team, translating real-world operational needs into working software.
• Adapt quickly to new tools, frameworks, and problem spaces—our stack evolves, and so should you.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain applications spanning front-end interfaces, back-end services, and APIs.
• Ensure applications are scalable, secure, and performant, with solid test coverage across the stack.
• Build responsive experiences that work reliably across mobile, tablet, and desktop.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across the full stack, collaborating with the team to unblock quickly.
• Evaluate existing systems, identify inefficiencies, and recommend practical improvements.
• Work with cross-functional teams to turn operational and product needs into reliable, well-built software.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of professional experience as a developer, with strong fundamentals in modern back end and front-end frameworks.
• Comfort working with cloud infrastructure, APIs, and relational databases.
• A curious, motivated approach to problem-solving, with high personal accountability for quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• The ability to collaborate effectively within a small team and contribute to shared goals.
• Comfort working with ambiguity in an agile development environment.
• A growth mindset and genuine interest in using technology to create meaningful change.

What Success Looks Like

• Features ship reliably, on time, and with strong test coverage across the stack.
• Code is clean, well-documented, and easy for teammates to build on.
• Systems remain secure, stable, and performant as usage grows.
• Issues are diagnosed and resolved quickly, with minimal disruption to users.
• You take on increasing ownership and scope as trust and confidence grow.
