Full Stack DevOps Engineer (Cloud Observability & Integration)- Working Hours: Mon-Fri (Hybrid)
- Remuneration: Up to $9,000 + AWS
- Employment Type: Contract (1 year renewable with chances of conversion)
Job OverviewWe are looking for a
Full Stack DevOps Engineer to join a government-linked technology team supporting a statutory board's application observability, CI/CD migration, and backend integration initiatives. This role sits closer to DevOps/Platform Engineering than traditional application development, and is well suited to candidates with strong AWS, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) experience.
Over the course of the engagement, the successful candidate will progress through four key phases: setting up application observability on AWS CloudWatch, migrating CI/CD runners to a centrally managed platform, supporting backend integration work (including AI-related MCP server setup), and helping migrate existing deployment pipelines to an Infrastructure-as-Code model.
Key Responsibilities- Design, configure, and maintain AWS CloudWatch Synthetics Canaries and related monitoring capabilities to meet application observability requirements
- Write, test, and refine canary scripts across environments (UAT to Production), accounting for environment-specific differences such as network paths, authentication, and endpoint configurations
- Build application health checks, availability and performance monitoring, dashboards, metrics, logs, and alerts, and troubleshoot monitoring issues or false positives
- Plan and execute migration of existing CI/CD runners to a centrally managed runner environment, including assessing build/deployment configurations, dependencies, and credentials beforehand
- Design, develop, and maintain backend integration components and services, including setting up Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and APIs for AI-enabled applications to access authorised data sources
- Implement authentication, authorisation, API management, logging, error handling, and data transformation for system-to-system integrations
- Support and manage a DevSecOps CI/CD deployment pipeline platform for new and existing applications, including onboarding and migrating applications onto it
- Progressively migrate manually configured infrastructure towards Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and develop/maintain IaC templates for consistent, repeatable provisioning
- Troubleshoot pipeline, deployment, environment, and infrastructure configuration issues, and promote reusable automation patterns to reduce manual effort
Requirements- Hands-on experience in several of the following areas:
- Cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS (GCP experience also relevant)
- Git/GitHub or equivalent source code management platforms
- CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Enterprise DevSecOps platforms (or equivalent CI/CD orchestration tools)
- CI/CD runners and build/deployment agents
- Working knowledge of AWS CloudWatch (or equivalent observability tooling) and scripting for monitoring/automation
- Backend/API integration experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills across deployment pipelines, infrastructure, and application environments
- Good communication skills to work cross-functionally with application and platform teams
- Singaporeans and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply; all candidates will be assessed on merit, regardless of age, race, gender, religion, marital status, family responsibilities, or disability
