Full stack developer

At Smollan Technologies, we provide a unified, technology-driven suite of products that redefines how businesses handle data. We don’t just build applications; we build cloud-native, high-throughput engines that turn raw unstructured media into predictive intelligence. Our Engineering team is no different. We are moving away from monolithic backends and rigid systems, flipping the switch on next‑gen applied AI and event-driven data platforms. By centralising our server‑heavy architectures, inference job orchestration, and rich web interfaces within automated cloud workflows, we are transforming complex technical infrastructure into a forward‑thinking strategic asset.

Our vision for our Senior Full Stack Developer is to carry day‑to‑day technical accountability for high‑volume distributed services and the operational web applications that expose them. This isn’t just about glueing APIs together; it’s about deep‑diving into server‑side concurrency, designing zero‑downtime database schemas, and orchestrating machine learning inference pipelines with deterministic reliability. The ideal candidate is a forward‑thinking engineer who is not only fluent in modern Type Script/Node.js and React patterns, but actively excited about integrating applied AI workflows, optimising pipeline unit economics, and driving operational excellence.

We believe that when you hire unique, creative problem solvers and give them flexibility and independence, incredible things happen. Our culture is rooted in a foundation of trust. We foster a diverse, inclusive environment where our people are genuinely cared for, inspired, and empowered to thrive. We are looking for dreamers who love a challenge and want the autonomy to solve it.

What You Will Do API Design & Data Engineering: Architect versioned REST APIs (Open API) secured via OAuth2/OIDC, while managing Postgre SQL schemas, complex query optimisation, indexing strategies, and zero‑downtime data migrations. Operational Web Application Development: Build responsive, high‑performance web front ends in React and Type Script featuring component‑driven design, efficient server‑state caching, and clean review workflows over large datasets. Distributed Services & Pipeline Architecture: Design and build asynchronous, event‑driven ingestion pipelines on GCP using Node.js/Type Script (Nest JS), handling backpressure, dead‑letter replays, and exactly‑once write idempotency under heavy load. Inference Orchestration & AI Integration: Orchestrate long‑running machine learning inference jobs (LLMs, detection models) behind schema‑first contracts, implementing confidence thresholding for human review and tracking cost‑per‑item telemetry. Observability & CI/CD Delivery: Implement end‑to‑end telemetry (Open Telemetry, structured logs), build containerised infrastructure via Docker/Ia C, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines with staged release strategies. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with Machine Learning Engineers on inference contracts, Mobile teams on device APIs, and Product Owners to translate complex operational needs into resilient software solutions.
