Compensation: ₹10.8L – ₹10.8L • No equity
Before you click apply: this posting has three mandatory questions further down. Applications without answers are rejected without reply.
About the Role
We're looking for a full stack developer who respects existing architecture. Gumb has a production codebase that works, and we need an engineer who takes ownership of it rather than rewriting it in the latest framework. If you're uncomfortable working with legacy systems, this role isn't for you.
Most of your work is on our serverless backend on AWS, with the remainder on our React frontend. The split is roughly 60% backend, 40% frontend. The architecture is set and the deployment pipeline exists. Your job is shipping features inside it, not designing it from scratch.
This is a mid-level position alongside a senior backend engineer. The senior role owns the architecture and the Serverless Framework configuration. If your background is deep AWS serverless architecture with no frontend work, apply to our Backend Developer posting instead, which sits at a higher compensation band.
Do Not Apply If
- Your AWS work is server or container based (EC2, ECS, EKS, Fargate) rather than Lambda
- Node.js is not your primary backend language
- You have never shipped React and Next.js to production
- You have less than 3 years of professional development experience
- Your notice period is longer than 30 days
- You run a company, freelance on the side or hold a co-founder role. This position is full time and exclusive
We check every cover letter against the CV. Claims that don't appear in your CV end the application.
Before You Apply
Answer all three questions in the "What interests you about Gumb?" field of the application form. Applications that skip them are rejected without reply.
- Name one backend feature you built on AWS Lambda in production. Which company, what the endpoint did, and how you deployed it.
- Where have you used React and Next.js in production? Name the company, describe how you handled state management and rendering (SSR / SSG / client-side), and name one decision you would make differently today.
- Confirm you have read the compensation: $1,000 / ₹90,000 net per month, fixed, no negotiation. Yes or no.
Write the answers yourself. We would rather read an imperfect answer than a polished one that doesn't match your CV.
Compensation & Work Culture
- ~$1,000 / ₹90,000 net per month, fixed, no negotiation (₹10.8L per year). This is net in hand, not CTC

- Flexible schedule within 09:00 to 23:00 IST, 8 hours per day
- Daily standup at 15:30 IST. Fixed, not flexible
- 📷 Camera-On Policy: You keep your camera on during work hours in Discord. Non-negotiable. We're a remote team and face-to-face presence matters to us.
