About Megaport
We’re not your typical tech company – and we don’t want to be. Megaport is the global leader in Network as a Service (NaaS), and has transformed the way businesses connect to the cloud, data centers, and each other. We’re publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and partnered with the biggest names in tech like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM, and more. Headquartered in Brisbane with a crew of over 600 people spread across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas, our employees enjoy an environment that is collaborative, supportive, and (actually) fun.
Our Team Culture
We’re a team of problem solvers, pixel pushers, code slingers, and cloud fanatics. Culture is more than a poster on the wall here – collaboration beats hierarchy, curiosity fuels our growth, and everyone’s voice matters. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We work across time zones to execute on our global vision, trust each other to get things done, and never compromise our values for commercial gain. Most importantly, we place our customers at the center of everything we do.
We’re committed to increasing representation in the tech industry and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Don’t meet every requirement? That’s okay. If you’re excited about this role, we encourage you to apply.
The Role
You've got a few years of building web applications under your belt, and you're ready to own real features on a product that customers depend on every day.
We're looking for a mid-level Frontend Engineer to join our Engineering team and help us ship high-quality software, faster. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll be a key contributor to our highest-value web property — the Megaport Portal — as well as other customer-facing and internal tools. It's where our customers actually provision global connectivity, so the quality of what you build is felt directly.
You'll work alongside a skilled, driven team, collaborate with people across the business, and have genuine room to shape how we solve problems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build and ship features across the Megaport Portal and other web projects — from an ambiguous problem through to shipped, tested, maintainable code.
- Work in a modern frontend stack — Vue 3, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind, TanStack, NX monorepo — and help shape how we use it.
- Turn business requirements into technical solutions, and speak up when a requirement doesn't quite add up — we'd rather you asked why before how.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to build intuitive, high-performing experiences.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests with tools like Vitest and Playwright.
- Help improve our architecture, patterns, and processes — and grow your own craft as you go.
What We Are Looking For
We care as much about how you think and work as what you already know. The technical bar matters, but so does curiosity, clear communication, and the drive to own your work.
You'll thrive here if you:
- Have at least a couple of years building responsive web applications, and are comfortable with Vue, React, Angular, or a similar modern framework.
- Write and read TypeScript comfortably, and care about clean, maintainable code.
- Have experience integrating with APIs and web services.
- Communicate clearly — you can explain a technical trade-off to an engineer and to a non-engineer, and you listen as well as you talk.
- Like solving problems, and can think critically about them — you dig into the why, weigh options, and aren't satisfied with "it works" when it could be right.
- Take ownership — you're keen to pick up a problem, run with it, and see it through.
Nice to have (or happy to help you learn):
- Solid grounding in web fundamentals — accessibility, semantic HTML, the web platform, and internationalization.
- Experience with testing frameworks like Vitest and Playwright.
- Familiarity with monorepos, CI/CD, or component-driven development.
What We Offer
- Flexible working environments
- Birthday Leave
- Generous study and training allowance + 5 days paid study leave
- Creative, fun, and contemporary workspaces
- Motivated team of industry experts and new talent
- Celebrated success with ‘Legend’ and ‘Kudos’ Awards
- Health and wellness program
