Freelance Video Producer / Editor

Freelance Video Producer / Editor
Contract / Project-Based · St. Louis, MO & Chicago, IL metro areas preferred

About Us
Creative Edge, Inc. — operating in part as NeigerDesign, A Creative Edge Company — is a full-service marketing and creative agency with offices in Cape Girardeau, MO, St. Louis, MO, and Evanston, IL and a distributed remote team. We work across branding & design, digital marketing, video production, and web services for clients ranging from local small businesses to national trade associations. As our workload grows, we're building a trusted bench of freelance specialists to plug into project teams alongside our in-house staff.

The Role
We're expanding our freelance video bench to support both production (shooting) and post-production (editing) needs across client projects — from brand and testimonial videos to social-first content and full campaign pieces. Some engagements are editing-only from existing footage; others involve full-day shoots on location. Let us know which you're available for.

What You'll Do

• Shoot on-location video for corporate, brand, and testimonial projects (camera, audio, and basic lighting setup).
• Edit raw footage into finished deliverables: brand videos, social cuts, voiceover-driven explainer content.
• Work from creative briefs and existing brand video style guides.
• Manage footage organization, backups, and file handoff per project.
• Incorporate feedback through structured revision rounds.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of professional video production and/or editing experience.
• Reel demonstrating both technical quality (lighting, audio, composition) and storytelling.
• Proficiency in Premiere Pro (After Effects a plus).
• Able to travel to shoot locations in the Southeast Missouri and/or Chicago region for in-person projects.

Engagement Details

• Contract structure: project-based Statement of Work (SOW) under a standing Master Service Agreement — not W-2 employment.
• Location: remote-friendly; candidates near St. Louis, MO or the Chicago metro area are a plus for occasional in-person work.
• Rate: dependent on experience and project scope; quoted per project or hourly depending on the
  engagement.
• Onboarding: scoped access to project tools (Teamwork), brand guidelines, and a single internal point of contact for each project.
• Engagements are typically quoted per project (shoot day rate + edit rate, or edit-only flat rate).

Interested?
Click "Apply for this Job" and send us your portfolio, résumé or professional background, location, availability, and typical freelance rate or rate range. We're especially interested in seeing work that demonstrates how you think as a creative—not just how you execute. Portfolios should include examples of a broad range of work and marketing applications rather than primarily social media content.
