Freelance Recruiter, Accountancy and Finance Desk (Cyprus, Remote)

Freelance Recruiter, Accountancy and Finance Desk (Cyprus, Remote), self employed contract or B2B.

About Emerald Zebra

Emerald Zebra is a boutique specialist recruitment and executive search consultancy headquartered in Limassol, Cyprus, with active mandates across Cyprus, Dubai, Malaysia, Singapore, and broader EMEA/APAC markets. For the last 5 years we've focused exclusively on FinTech, Tech, Financial Services, FX/CFD, crypto, payments, and iGaming: regulated, high-complexity hiring with direct board and founder involvement. We don't do volume, we do depth: specialist, senior, head of department, and director level roles.

The role

Our Accountancy and Finance desk is already established, with a strong foundation of clients and mandates across the region. We are looking for an experienced freelance recruiter to take it to grow it further, expanding our reach across Cyprus and the UAE.

You will manage existing client relationships, develop new ones, and run full-cycle recruitment for finance functions (CFO, Head of Finance, Financial Controller, FP&A, Internal Audit, Senior Accountants/Managers, Compliance/Finance crossover, and similar) across our target sectors.

Based in Cyprus, working remotely.

What You'll Do in brief:

Grow the Accountancy and Finance desk across Cyprus and the UAE building on an established client base.

Develop new client relationships in finance functions across FinTech, Financial Services, FX/CFD, crypto, payments, and iGaming.

Manage full-cycle recruitment: sourcing, screening, shortlisting, interview coordination, offer management.

Work assigned mandates alongside self-sourced business.

Maintain accurate, complete records in our ATS.

What We're Looking For:

Proven recruitment experience, ideally with an accountancy and finance specialism either agency side or in-house TA. A recruiter through and through with a passion for the work.
Or an accounting & finance professional with internal department hiring experience across finance and accountancy teams.

Resourceful, endurance, committed, resilient, team player, ethical, professional.

Fluent English; Greek desirable.

Existing network or credible route to build one across Cyprus and the wider region.

Comfortable working independently on a high uncapped commission basis. (NDA & Associate agreement b2b or self employed status).

Why This, Not Solo

This is not a cold start. You step into an established desk with live clients, active mandates, and a database of 65,000+ candidates. You work under a brand with 25 years of regional network behind it, so your outreach opens doors from day one. All the infrastructure is handled for you: ATS, job boards, marketing, coordination support, and invoicing. You focus on recruiting, not admin.

You work remotely (from Cyprus), on your own hours, with full autonomy over how you run the desk. And you own a defined specialism, with the chance to build your personal reputation as the region's go-to recruiter for accountancy and finance across FinTech and Financial Services, working alongside a founder who built and exited Cyprus's largest recruitment agency.

Interested candidates should send a CV and a short note to highlight fit.
