We are seeking a skilled FPGA Engineer to join our team in Rochester, NY. This direct hire opportunity focuses on developing and verifying FPGA firmware for tactical communication products in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, verify, and test modem/signal processing-based FPGA firmware for radio communication systems.
- Analyze requirements and create FPGA specifications and development plans.
- Develop FPGA verification/test plans and code firmware designs in VHDL.
- Code test benches in System Verilog and ensure designs meet specified requirements.
- Integrate FPGA firmware on hardware and work with FPGA vendor-specific implementation tools.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of related experience in FPGA development is required.
- Experience in developing and verifying FPGA/ASIC based embedded system solutions.
- Proficiency in FPGA/ASIC development using VHDL or Verilog.
- Experience in FPGA/ASIC verification using System Verilog.
- Familiarity with integrating FPGA firmware on hardware and working in a Linux-based development environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with MatLab, Simulink, or similar digital signal processing (DSP) modeling tools.
- Knowledge of communication system signal processing theory and waveform design.
- Experience with TCL or Python scripting languages.
- Working knowledge of implementation and testing of MODEM RF Designs.
- Familiarity with Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) and vendor-specific FPGA verification tools (Mentor Questa, Visualizer).
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $160,000 per year, along with full benefits and relocation assistance.
Location and Work Arrangement:
This position is onsite only in Rochester, NY, located in Upstate New York on Lake Ontario, approximately 60 miles from Niagara Falls.
