Founding Forward Deployed Engineer

About Us

Lumari streamlines operations for supply chain teams with AI agents that monitor, coordinate, and take action. Lumari (YC X25) is the first AI supply chain platform for direct materials procurement. We handle RFQs, supplier communication, order tracking, and end-to-end procurement execution -- replacing the spreadsheets, emails, and manual follow-ups that bog down procurement teams. We work with manufacturers, hardware companies, and any business managing complex direct materials spend across multiple suppliers. We're building the OS for supply chain operations. Learn more at .

Supply chain is how the modern world actually works. Every physical product you use, from cars and phones to chairs and machines, depends on a vast coordination network to source materials, manage production, and deliver on time. When supply chain breaks, everything stops. A single delayed component can halt an entire factory. A missed delivery can kill a product launch. We enable these teams to stay ahead of these issues before they turn into major operational crises.

If you want to build a product that drives real-world impact at enterprise scale, join us. You'll ship fast, work directly and closely with customers, and help make agents reliable in real operations.

What You’ll Do

• Work alongside the founders on our biggest customer engagements, shaping how we build for and with them
• Understand customers’ workflows and success criteria and turn their needs into technical implementations
• Ship full-stack features end-to-end, from backend services and data models to frontend interfaces
• Iterate quickly based on customer feedback, and turn ambiguous problems into shipped product
• Own features from idea to production: build, launch, monitor, and improve
• Build AI agents from the ground up: designing orchestration logic, tool calling, prompting, and decision-making flows that work reliably in production environments
• Design clean, intuitive UI/UX for complex workflows
• Work closely with co-founders (ex-Google, ex-Stripe) to set engineering and product direction

What We’re Looking For

• Strong full-stack experience shipping production software with React, TypeScript, Python, FastAPI, Next.js
• Experience building with AI and LLMs: tool calling, prompting, structured outputs, guardrails, and agent workflow design
• Proactive ownership mindset: you fix problems as you see them and can independently turn requirements into production-ready code
• Sharp communication skills and experience working closely with customers
• Design sense and attention to detail: you care about how interfaces look and feel, not just how they work
• Power user of AI coding tools and ability to use them to move faster without sacrificing quality

Bonus Points (optional)

• Prior startup experience, founding engineer role, or you've been a founder yourself
• Experience working in or alongside supply chain, logistics, procurement, or operations teams
