About Voicepanel
Voicepanel is building the future of customer-centric product development.
AI is making it dramatically easier to build new products. But building faster doesn't eliminate the need for customer feedback—it increases it. As teams ship more ideas, experiments, and AI-powered experiences, they need faster ways to understand what customers think and whether they're making the right decisions.
Voicepanel helps companies evaluate products with real people at the speed of modern product development. Our platform recruits participants, gathers feedback, and transforms it into structured evidence that helps teams make better decisions. Leading product teams use Voicepanel to validate ideas, improve experiences, and launch with greater confidence.
We're a veteran team of product builders from Google, Microsoft, Apple, and leading startups. We're backed by Y Combinator and founders of companies including Dropbox, Instacart, Optimizely, Airtable, and Gusto.
About the role
We're looking for an exceptional founding designer to help define a new category.
As our first designer, you'll work directly with the founders to shape every aspect of Voicepanel, from core product experiences to brand, storytelling, and the overall quality bar of the company.
This is not a role for someone who wants to optimize an existing design system. It's a role for someone who wants to invent new interaction models, rethink how people interact with AI, and help define what great product design looks like in an AI-native world.
What you'll own
- Reimagine how people give feedback to companies. We’re building a new kind of feedback experience that spans conversations, usability tests, mobile screen recordings, prototypes, concepts, images, videos, and entirely new interaction models that don’t exist yet. You'll craft delightful experiences that respondents genuinely enjoy while delivering rich, high-quality signals that help companies make better decisions.
- Design exceptional experiences for modern product teams. Shape the workflows customers use to evaluate products, collect feedback, analyze results, and drive decisions. Deeply understand how teams work across their product stack—including AI tools, design systems, and MCP-powered workflows—and transform sophisticated capabilities into experiences that feel intuitive, trustworthy, and delightful.
- Help define a new category. We're building something without established patterns or playbooks. You'll help invent the interaction models, design principles, and quality standards that define how customer-informed product development works in an AI-native world.
What makes you a fit
- Exceptional product taste and attention to detail
- Strong systems thinking and ability to simplify complex workflows
- Comfortable designing and building with modern AI tools
- Curious, collaborative, and energized by ambiguity
- Comfortable moving between strategy, interaction design, and implementation details
- Obsessed with quality and willing to sweat details others overlook
Why this role is special
- Define a category. Product development is being reinvented by AI. You'll help define how customer-informed decision making works in an AI-native world.
- Own the core experience. We believe customer feedback should become as embedded in product development as code review. You'll shape the experiences that make that possible.
- Design and build. We believe the best designers increasingly build. You'll use AI-native tools to rapidly prototype, validate, and ship ideas rather than relying on handoffs.
- Work with exceptional people. You'll collaborate with experienced builders from Google, Microsoft, Apple, and leading startups who care deeply about craft, quality, and customer understanding.
- Help build the company. As our first designer, you’ll be shaping the product and brand to the design culture and long-term direction of the business.
