Forward Deployed Engineer

About the Organisation

The organisation is an AI platform company helping large enterprises become AI-driven organisations. Their core product is deploying AI agents that operate reliably in production - solving real operational problems end-to-end for enterprise customers.

About the Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll work directly and in-person with customers to understand critical workflows, design AI-driven solutions, and deploy agents that operate reliably in production. You'll own projects end-to-end - from problem definition and system design through to launch and iteration - and be accountable for real business impact.

This is not a build-it-and-hand-it-off role. You'll be a hands-on generalist who thrives in ambiguity, learns fast, and works across systems while partnering with enterprises as they become AI-driven organisations.

What You'll Do

• Partner with customers to understand operational challenges and success criteria

• Translate open-ended problems into clear technical designs and implementations

• Build AI agents that integrate with customer systems and perform real tasks

• Own deployments - including reliability, performance, and continuous improvement

• Test with real data, measure outcomes, and iterate based on results

• Collaborate with Product & Engineering to ship high-quality solutions

• Contribute to tools, documentation, and best practices that scale customer deployment

What You'll Bring

• 3+ years of experience in technical problem-solving roles

• Experience leading or contributing to solution scoping, discovery workshops, or early-stage AI/technical strategy in collaboration with sales, product, or deployment teams

• Strong fundamentals in software and system design

• Clear communication skills and a strong ownership mindset

• High-agency mindset: comfortable creating clarity, proposing direction, and driving decisions without waiting for perfect requirements

• Experience working across systems, integrations, and data flows

• Comfort working directly with customers and owning ambiguous problems

• Curiosity and genuine interest in building AI-powered systems that work in practice

Nice to Have

• Experience in forward-deployed, solutions engineering, or customer-facing technical roles

• Exposure to AI agents, automation, or conversational systems

• Experience operating and improving production systems

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
