Are you excited about turning suena's trading and financial data into the controlling view that shows exactly where we stand? Join suena energy as Financial Controller (f/m/x) and become the analytical backbone of our Finance team – from 15-minute MWh to scenario modeling.
suena energy is a green tech startup specializing in algorithmic energy trading for energy storage systems and renewables.
Our vision: a world where clean energy is used reliably, economically, and intelligently - and where we actively accelerate the energy transition by enabling batteries and renewables to power our grids. With our AI-based optimization and trading software, we maximize the value and market participation of large-scale energy storage and renewable assets in short-term electricity and balancing markets - while minimizing risk for operators.
Today, this kind of analysis gets squeezed in around the day-to-day – we need someone to make it a proper part of how Finance works.
We're a 50+ person team that's fast-paced by nature, but the kind of place where people actually look out for each other. Following our successful Series A, we're investing in expanding our team – and building out real financial transparency as we scale.
You'll hear back from us within 5 working days of your application. We value your time and want to make the process as transparent as possible. Once we receive your application, we'll send you a confirmation email outlining the next steps and what you can expect from our interview process.
We can't wait to meet you!
suena energy is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and reject any form of discrimination. It is important to us to create an inclusive environment for all our team members. We want to particularly emphasize that our call for applicants is addressed to all genders. We welcome applications from people with disabilities.

- Run scenario analyses on our rolling forecast, working with Lena, our Senior Controller, on the assumptions.
- Pull and process raw data yourself – CSVs straight from Data Science, no waiting on a specific cut.
- Reconcile MWh data against power exchange settlements, interval by interval, so every number is traceable.
- Chase down what's off in the numbers – ad hoc, whenever something in trading or finance data needs some deep dive analysis.
- Tighten our Excel models – find the errors, automate the manual parts, build in checks.
- Surface product-level profitability for our CFO.
- Your track: own the MWh data analysis. automate the checks and own scenario modelling by month 3-6
- You've scoped and built something yourself end-to-end in trading or an adjacent field (energy trading, commodities, prop trading, quant funds, asset management for renewables/storage) – a reconciliation logic, a forecast model, a recurring analysis you owned, not one you maintained or supported.
- Strong in Excel and confident in Python – you pull, clean, and work with raw data yourself, not just finished exports.
- You catch what doesn't add up – not just running numbers, but questioning them.
- Business sense over accounting depth – no tax/bookkeeping needed, but you read a PnL.
- No ERP, no problem – we're Excel-based across multiple sources right now.
- Fluent English – our working language. German's a plus.
- International company experience: a plus, not a must.
- People at the Core: Clear structures, democratic decisions, and a feedback culture where your voice counts.
- Shape the Future: Contribute to the energy transition by working on sustainable energy solutions in a growing market environment.
- Connecting & Co-Creating: Strategy off-sites and onsite weeks for real collaboration and shared ideas.
- Work Your Way: Home office and flexible hours – you know what works best for you and your team.
- Good Vibes: Yoga, shared lunches, after-work fun – we keep the energy up, even when it's busy.
- Body & Mind: Urban Sports Club membership, wellbeing check-ins, and mental health support – your energy matters.
- New Office: 10th-floor office with rooftop terrace, canteen, great views, ergonomic desks, hardware of your choice, and a pet-friendly environment.
- Sustainable Extras: Deutschlandticket, FutureBens, and more – supporting your mobility and future.
