COMPANY INTRODUCTION
Our client is a U.S.-headquartered specialty metals processing and distribution company, part of a large, privately held international metals group. As part of its growth in Asia, the company is establishing a new operation in Singapore and is building a local finance function to support it.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Finance Manager, Singapore will serve as the finance leader for the company's Singapore operations, with responsibility for financial reporting, planning and analysis, internal controls, statutory compliance, treasury coordination, and finance team leadership. The role will partner closely with local operations leadership, the U.S. headquarters, and the parent group to support profitable growth, disciplined working capital management, operational excellence, and compliance with applicable Singapore financial and GST filing requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accurate, timely, and complete financial reporting for Singapore operations.
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and operating performance summaries for local and parent-company reporting.
- Maintain strong financial governance, internal controls, accounting policies, and approval processes to safeguard company assets and support reliable reporting.
- Coordinate annual planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial projections, including revenue, volume, staffing, operating expense, capital expenditure, and working capital assumptions.
- Oversee Singapore financial reporting, GST tax filing, and other required governmental filings in coordination with external auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders.
- Manage cash receipts, accounts payable, credit and collections, treasury reporting, banking relationships, and working capital requirements in coordination with the U.S. headquarters and parent group.
- Provide financial insight and decision support to operations leadership, including margin analysis, cost controls, inventory management, capital spending, and key performance metrics.
- Lead, coach, and develop finance and administrative team members, setting clear expectations and promoting accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Support contract management, supply chain services, quality, safety, and operations teams by providing financial analysis, process discipline, and performance reporting.
- Partner with operations leadership on facility matters, lease obligations, capital expenditure planning, and multi-year equipment and infrastructure needs.
- Drive process improvement, automation, and finance system enhancements to improve reporting efficiency, data integrity, and scalability.
- Perform other duties as required to support business needs and the continued development of Singapore operations.
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 5–10 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or senior finance leadership, preferably within an international, manufacturing, distribution, metals, or multi-site business environment.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore financial reporting, GST tax filing, and audit requirements.
- Demonstrated experience leading month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, working capital management, and internal control processes.
- Proven ability to partner with operations leaders and parent-company finance teams to support commercial decisions and operational performance.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High proficiency with financial systems, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability and willingness to travel periodically to company locations as required; the role is primarily office-based in Singapore.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional accounting qualification such as CA Singapore, CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Experience working with U.S.-based parent companies, cross-border reporting requirements, or multinational group structures.
- Experience with ERP systems, finance process improvement, reporting automation, or business intelligence tools.
- Working proficiency in English; additional language skills, including Mandarin Chinese, may be beneficial depending on business needs.

WHAT WE OFFER
- Salary from SGD 100,000/year and up, based on experience and last compensation package, to make a fair offer
- Performance and KPI-based bonus
- Permanent contract, direct hire by the company's Singapore entity; 6-month probation
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Candidates must be based in Singapore and eligible to work in Singapore.
