Jim Pattison Subaru Coquitlam is looking for a customer-focused Finance & Insurance Advisor to join our dealership team. This is an opportunity for a motivated, personable professional who enjoys working with people, has a strong attention to detail, and is interested in developing a career in automotive finance.
You’ll play an important role in the customer experience by helping guests understand their financing and leasing options, completing the documentation associated with their vehicle purchase, and introducing protection and insurance products that may be appropriate for their needs.
Automotive experience is an asset, but it is not essential. We are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates professionalism, initiative, strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to learn.

The Opportunity
As a Finance & Insurance Advisor, you will work with customers after they have selected their vehicle and help guide them through the financial and administrative side of their purchase.
Your responsibilities will include:
Meeting with customers to review and complete the financial portion of their vehicle transaction
Explaining financing, leasing, payment structures, and available options in a clear and easy-to-understand manner
Preparing and presenting finance and lease agreements in accordance with dealership and lender requirements
Introducing customers to available protection products, including extended service contracts, vehicle protection products, and applicable insurance offerings
Working with lenders and financial institutions to obtain approvals and structure transactions
Reviewing contracts and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness
Ensuring transactions are processed in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and dealership procedures
Maintaining accurate customer and deal information within dealership systems and CRM platforms
Coordinating with sales, management, and delivery teams to keep transactions moving efficiently
Supporting an organized and professional vehicle delivery experience
Developing productive relationships with lenders and keeping informed about financing programs, rates, and available products
Maintaining current knowledge of finance, insurance, protection products, and applicable regulatory requirements
Providing a consistently professional and transparent experience throughout the customer's purchase journey
The successful candidate understands that this role is about more than completing paperwork. You will help customers make informed decisions while ensuring every transaction is handled accurately, ethically, and professionally.
What You Bring
We are looking for someone who is confident working with customers and comfortable taking responsibility for detailed financial and legal documentation.
Ideally, you will have:
A high school diploma or equivalent
The ability to obtain and maintain the required VSA licensing
An interest in automotive finance, lending, insurance, and related products
Strong verbal and written communication skills
A professional and approachable personality
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple transactions
The ability to explain financial information and contractual details in straightforward language
A customer-first mindset combined with sound business judgment
A strong commitment to ethical and compliant business practices
Comfort using CRM platforms, digital tools, and dealership software
The flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required
Previous experience in automotive sales, finance, banking, lending, or a related customer-facing environment is an asset
