POSITION SUMMARY
Independently performs standard field service, installation, preventive maintenance, testing, startup support, repair, and troubleshooting on industrial direct current power systems, stationary batteries, chargers, rectifiers, inverters, and supported multi-manufacturer uninterruptible power supply equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Independently execute standard battery installation, replacement, connection, torque, polarity, grounding, inspection, and acceptance activities.
Perform preventive maintenance and approved testing, including voltage, resistance or impedance, temperature, charger performance, alarm, and operational checks.
Perform approved capacity or discharge testing after completing the applicable qualification.
Troubleshoot common battery, charger, rectifier, inverter, monitoring, and supported uninterruptible power supply issues.
Read and apply single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, manufacturer manuals, and statements of work.
Identify deteriorated components and recommend corrective action within approved authority.
Coordinate routine site activities with customers, dispatch, technical support, subcontractors, and other field personnel.
Explain equipment condition, completed work, limitations, and recommended follow-up to the customer.
Complete accurate field reports, test records, photographs, deficiency information, and expense documentation.
Guide Technician I personnel during standard tasks and reinforce safe work practices.
Participate in scheduled and emergency response work.

Must be able to wear electrical, arc-rated, chemical, respiratory, and fall-protection equipment when the hazard assessment requires it.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing to work flexible hours and weekends, if required. Must be available for out-of-area assignments of up to several weeks, and to assist on field assignments when required. Working knowledge of alternating current and direct current theory, battery fundamentals, chargers, rectifiers, inverters, and uninterruptible power supply operating principles.
Proficiency with digital multimeters, battery resistance or impedance testers, torque tools, thermal instruments, and other assigned test equipment.
Ability to diagnose common faults, distinguish symptoms from root causes, and know when engineering or senior escalation is required.
Professional written and verbal customer communication.
Ability to work independently and manage changing field schedules.
The associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or other components; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear and smell. The associate frequently is required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have ability to regularly lift at least 50 pounds.
Valid driver's license.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma and 2–5 years of relevant field service, industrial electrical, critical-power, direct current, battery, telecommunications-power, or military technical experience.
Preferred - Associate degree or vocational credential in electrical or electronics technology.
The anticipated salary range for this role in Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Oregon locality is between $80,011-$100,061 per year; salary ranges for other geographic localities may vary. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are role based. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
