$24.00–$29.00/hour + Overtime

Quest International is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician I to support customers throughout the Detroit metropolitan area and surrounding territory.
This is a field-based technical service position for someone who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, solving problems independently, traveling to customer locations, and working directly with customers.
You’ll install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair technical and electro-mechanical equipment while developing your experience across multiple customer environments.
What You’ll Do
Troubleshoot & Repair
Diagnose electro-mechanical equipment failures using technical documentation, diagnostic tools, and systematic troubleshooting.
Perform Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
Complete scheduled maintenance and respond to equipment failures to help minimize downtime and maintain reliable operation.
Repair Equipment to the FRU / Component Level
Identify and replace failed components and assemblies, including:
Wiring and connectors
Circuit boards
Modules
Sensors
Motors
Power components
Field Replaceable Units (FRUs)
Other electrical and mechanical assemblies
Use Professional Diagnostic Tools
Use a digital multimeter and other service tools to test equipment, isolate faults, and verify completed repairs.
Support Customers in the Field
Travel to customer locations, communicate professionally with customer personnel, and provide clear updates regarding service activity.
Document Your Work
Complete accurate service reports, work orders, repair records, and required customer documentation.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who has real hands-on technical experience and can work through an equipment problem from diagnosis through repair.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 1 year of professional hands-on experience in field service, equipment repair, electronics, industrial maintenance, automotive diagnostics, or a similar technical environment.
Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing electro-mechanical equipment.
Ability to diagnose equipment to the FRU or component level.
Professional experience using a digital multimeter and other diagnostic/service tools.
Ability to read and follow technical manuals, diagrams, work instructions, and service procedures.
Valid driver’s license.
Reliable personal vehicle.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 80%, including overnight assignments.
Flexibility for early departures, late returns, overtime, and changing customer schedules.
Willingness to complete the required Human Performance Test.

Use diagnostic tools to isolate equipment failures.
Work independently at customer locations.
Complete repairs accurately and safely.
Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams.
Maintain detailed service documentation.
Adapt to changing schedules and customer priorities.
Manage frequent travel and overnight assignments.
Take ownership of service calls from diagnosis through resolution.
Travel & Work Environment
This is a field-based travel position and is not a remote, work-from-home, IT help-desk, or software-support role.
Travel may reach up to 80% and can include overnight stays, early departures, late returns, schedule changes, and overtime depending on customer and business needs.
Compensation
$24.00–$29.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
This position is overtime eligible.
