$24.00–$29.00/hour + Overtime
Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Travel: Up to 80%, including overnight travel
Why Join Quest International?
Quest International is hiring a hands-on Field Service Technician to support customers throughout Southern California.
This is a field-based technical service position for someone who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, solving problems independently, traveling to customer locations, and working directly with customers.
You will install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair medical, industrial, OEM, electronic, and electro-mechanical equipment while supporting customers across a dynamic field-service environment.
If you enjoy working with your hands and figuring out why equipment failed—not simply replacing parts until it works—this could be a strong fit.
What You’ll Do
Troubleshoot & Repair
Diagnose electrical, electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical equipment failures using test equipment, technical documentation, and systematic troubleshooting.
Perform Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and respond to equipment failures to help maintain reliability and minimize customer downtime.
Repair Equipment & Replace Components
Identify and replace failed components and assemblies, including:
Circuit boards
Modules
Wiring
Connectors
Sensors
Power components
Mechanical assemblies
Field Replaceable Units (FRUs)
Other electronic and electro-mechanical components
Use Professional Diagnostic Equipment
Use a digital multimeter and other diagnostic or test equipment to measure electrical conditions, isolate failures, and verify completed repairs.
Work from Technical Documentation
Read and follow:
Technical manuals
Schematics
Wiring diagrams
Service procedures
Work instructions
Standard operating procedures
Support Customers in the Field
Travel to customer locations, communicate professionally with customer personnel, and provide clear updates regarding service activity and equipment status.
Document Your Work
Complete accurate service reports, work orders, repair records, and required customer documentation.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone with real hands-on technical experience who is comfortable opening equipment, testing components, diagnosing failures, and completing repairs.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 1 year of professional hands-on experience in field service, equipment repair, electronics, maintenance, automotive diagnostics, or another electro-mechanical environment.
Experience troubleshooting electrical, electronic, mechanical, or electro-mechanical equipment.
Experience replacing failed parts, modules, circuit boards, wiring, connectors, sensors, or assemblies.
Professional experience using a digital multimeter or other diagnostic/test equipment.
Ability to read and follow technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and service procedures.
Valid driver’s license.
Reliable transportation.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 80%, including overnight assignments throughout Southern California and other locations when required.
Ability to work independently at customer locations.
Strong customer communication and service-documentation skills.
Flexibility for early departures, late returns, changing customer schedules, and overtime when required.
Willingness to successfully complete the required Human Performance Test.
Technical Backgrounds We Value
Relevant experience may come from a variety of technical industries, including:
Medical equipment / BMET
Industrial equipment
Laboratory equipment
Optical equipment
OEM technical service
Electronics
Automotive diagnostics
Aviation
Robotics
Mechatronics

Other hands-on technical repair environments
Your previous title does not need to be “Field Service Technician.” What matters is your demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, document, and support customers professionally.
Additional Technical Skills
The following experience is helpful:
Windows troubleshooting
Command Prompt
PowerShell
Technical computer diagnostics
Electronic test equipment
Reading electrical or wiring diagrams
What Success Looks Like
Successful technicians in this role are able to:
Troubleshoot systematically instead of relying only on parts replacement.

Work independently at customer locations.
Complete repairs accurately and safely.
Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams.
Maintain detailed and accurate service documentation.
Adapt to changing schedules and customer priorities.
Manage frequent travel and overnight assignments.

Travel & Work Environment
This is a field-based travel position and is not a remote, work-from-home, IT help-desk, or software-support role.
Travel may reach up to 80% and can include overnight stays, early departures, late returns, schedule changes, and overtime based on customer and business needs.
Technicians must be comfortable working independently at customer locations throughout Southern California and traveling outside the immediate territory when required.
Compensation
$24.00–$29.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
This position is overtime eligible.
