Expert Data Science

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy data science and artificial intelligence solutions that enhance finance planning and decision-making.
• Develop predictive, prescriptive, and machine learning models that generate actionable business insights.
• Transform complex business challenges into scalable analytics products, models, dashboards, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to identify high-value opportunities and drive solution adoption.
• Prepare, validate, and optimize enterprise datasets to support analytics, reporting, and artificial intelligence initiatives.
• Implement model monitoring, governance, and Responsible Artificial Intelligence practices across solution lifecycles.
• Contribute to Generative Artificial Intelligence, large language model, retrieval-augmented generation, and Agentic Artificial Intelligence initiatives.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in data science, machine learning, advanced analytics, or applied artificial intelligence.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis, model development, and scalable solution delivery.
• Strong knowledge of statistics, predictive modeling, forecasting, machine learning, and model evaluation techniques.
• Experience translating business requirements into analytical solutions with measurable business impact.
• Ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience applying data science, forecasting, planning, or performance analytics within Finance or similar business functions.
• Exposure to Generative Artificial Intelligence, large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, or Agentic Artificial Intelligence frameworks.

Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: €35,000 to €65,000

The base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters.
